I've noticed that now I would have got an extra 3 baht to the £ since I left last just over a week ago

That would have been an extra 6,000 baht in my pocket

Looking at the exchange rates today, 6-6, it sure looks like the baht is weakening at a steady pace. That should be a little help for the low season tourists to have a few more baht to spend, which in turn will put more back into the pockets of businesses around Pattaya and other tourist areas.

I'm just interested in the £ and    baht rates

"Holding all other factors constant", if the inflation increases in a particular country then its currency depreciates.

High inflation in Thailand right now mostly due to food and fuel. The question is whether or not the expected high inflation is already adequately factored into the current exchange rate.

Bank of Thailand may increase interest rates in July to help curb inflation which would then make the baht appreciate "holding all other factors constant". I'm sure the insiders are trading the baht ahead of the official announcements.

USD was strong against the baht this week.

It's midnight Saturday in Sodom by the Sea and I'm at my computer writing about FX. Sad.

                    I'm going out now!

Anyone know a website where I can check on dollar/baht futures?

dollar/baht is probably so thinly traded that there are no futures.
                      Maybe forwards?

you could, but not nearly so much fun as spending them.

Since there are no more currency controls, it should be the same everywhere

                              check, ( for USD )
                              http://www.bloomberg.com/markets/cur...urrencies.html

this is the bank rate, you should get close to this using a wire transfer or such. A money changer will typically take a few % (3% is common)

You should never, ever buy baht in the UK. Change at Bkk airport if you need money for taxi's etc.

Todays rate (as per Bangkok Bank) is 65.45bt/£ compared with 61 here.
