(PigDogg @ Feb. 05 2008,02:57)An explanation could be that the type of Brit that visits/lives Thailand is more likely to be murdered than the type of Brit that visits/lives Switzerland.(stogie bear @ Feb. 04 2008,10:12) why the 'Land of Smiles' is one of the most dangerous places on earth for its British residents

Maybe Thailand is the elderly falang's Elephant Graveyard? And included retired Brits living in Thailand. But is sounds like a lot to me anyway
What's the alternative, go live in an OAP home, become senile and incontinent and wait to die?
I know which option I'd take...

No no, nothing to say. I was simply a bit surprised of the numbers. Till you read something you know nothing about you are at the obscure of what facts are(Monkey @ Feb. 06 2008,07:17) Maybe Thailand is the elderly falang's Elephant Graveyard?

8 in 10 Brits were electrocuted in the shower in Thailand. 7 in 10 Brits were electrocuted in the bathtub in Thailand while using a hair dryer. 9 in 10 Brits were electrocuted on the toilet in Thailand while using the anal washing hose.(Naang Faa @ Feb. 05 2008,00:35) I get more scared plugging in electrics round here!
Do they have any stats on that?.....

The whole concept of grounding doesn't exist in Thailand... insulating wiring is an option. Fuses and Circuit Breakers are an added expense and not deemed necessary and even when used any amperage will do.
When in Thailand... use electricity at your own risk. There are no regulations and no safety standards.Comment

I was in a workshop last year, somewhere in the outskirt of BKK, and I am no expert in electrical installation but I was watching on each pillar of the building these power cutters for industrial voltage (380V) totally exposed to the elements and completely un-grounded(BAM @ Feb. 06 2008,13:47) The whole concept of grounding doesn't exist in Thailand... insulating wiring is an option. A Swedish guy who is experienced in the field told me that simply touching them in the wrong way would have transformed me in light and heat. He was TOTALLY shocked! His first time in Thailand
