48 hours back in    ... is probably the reality check I need, Azza! (Coming soon).  And Kahuna is right, my last visit to Pattaya (for the Big K mini-tour) reminded me just how friendly some beer bars can be....eg. the LBs encouraging customers to play pool with them  

Some good points being made on this thread. And I overlooked mentioning two very customer-friendly LBs ... Moo and Ink.  It was good to see Jay back there last night, and I'm sure it won't take too much to get the bar humming.   It is a good venue for meeting up, but I suppose many of the regulars are just as insular as the LBs. So fair comment for the girls.

But I disagree with Stogie - the screeching at the pool table IS NOT a small price to pay.   And I would prefer to see the sofas in horny action (remember the original Guess bar USP?), not 'staff sleeping' action.

And Gong survived ...  despite Stogie's original campaign to get rid of him.  Now it's all   He has his critics, but I think he's good for the bar. After all, he recruited Top

As a regular person to stop in at Guess Bar, I have to agree with most of you, especially Stogie but I also see TT€™s side of it too.

I like the bar, it€™s quiet and sensual when the talent is there. But I have to admit, the attitude of the girls is really poor. I went in last week, and when I was in there, there was nearly every girl was either playing pool or sitting outside talking amongst themselves, 2 girls were on the couches on the left when you come in and we all covered up and I asked Gong if they were asleep or just tired from too much work and he said €œI don€™t know anything about it.€ and he walked away. The girls never moved the entire time I was there. I don€™t even know who they were because they were covered with pillows and such.

I did get a new Jenny story though€¦hahaha

NEW Jenny Story:
I got my drink and me and another guy chatted at the bar (very nice guy and good looking too) and he told me he tried to get Jenny the night before and she said she wanted 3000ST and the guy said he would give her 2000ST and 3000LT he said she told him point blank, her dress won€™t even come off for anything less than 3000 baht and she won€™t do LT for anything less than 5000 baht. He asked her about going with him because he really liked her and had seen her pictures before, but she said she was playing pool and would talk to him when she was done. He said he never saw someone with such attitude or foolish prices. He said he got another girl at the bar for 3000LT and he was delighted with her, but I still noticed him glaring at Jenny again the night I spoke to him. He said he spoke to her before I came in and she ignored him totally and wouldn€™t even respond to his hello. I had no advice for him€¦.haha. Welcome to the world of Jenny I guess€¦..haha

On a personal note, I use the bar as a meeting place and find the girls beautiful, but I agree with most. Without Jay there, there is a definite poor attitude. I was a HUGE fan of the old Guess Bar and even before moving to Bangkok, I stayed in the ST rooms all the time and lived in the bar every night when I vacationed here and eventually ended up with Nui long term (over a year) after the endless nights. That was the good old days I guess. Jay was always sweet and helpful and gracious. I had even spent many nights with Jenny and bar fined her for nearly a couple of week on one trip, so I know Jenny or I should say €œKNEW€ Jenny pretty well. But we had a fight just before I began my relationship with Nui and have gotten the cold shoulder ever since, but I suspect it was because of Nui and myself getting together on a permanent basis.

At the old bar, Jay was always there and there was an order to the place and would often see the girls approach EVERYONE that came in. At the new bar now, it€™s more common to see someone come in and never be even spoken too, let alone approached. I don€™t mind being mobbed when I walk in, but to be totally ignored is poor service too. I know Jay is putting her full attention into her new business, but she has to know too that without her attendance at the bar, the bar will suffer severely.

I know it€™s all about the baht. I had Ploy on my lap last week and bought her a drink and played touchy feely for 30 minutes or so and she was giving me the hard sell for a bar fine 3000LT plus BF and even after I slipped her a couple hundred baht for her attention, it was like€¦.Ok, times up€¦.see ya. She got up, walked over to the bar next to the pool table and started talking to her buddies. I got up and went to Cascades and had Beer in my bed within the hour and all for 1000LT plus BF. But I know Beer too and she always wants to go with me.

I suspect many customers have been told foolish prices and got up and left to go across the street and get a girl for half the price. Money being what it is, these girls can€™t be rude and then say €œPay this or get lost€. I know they can ask whatever they feel they are worth, and I agree 100% with them, I personally figure 3000 baht is nothing compared to what girls get in America or in the European countries, but they have to use some tact when demanding it.

If I have Eye snuggling me and she begs me to take her home, hell I€™ll pay her what her going rate is. If I don€™t pay it, someone else will. But some of these girls are just average ladyboys, not stars. So to be spoken to rudely, I can see why people get disgusted with the bar.

As a note too, when I was talking and playing touchy feely with Ploy, we discussed LT€™s and ST rates and some of the girls have heard about the ladyboy convention in May (I asked Ploy to escort me) and she told me that most ALL Guess Bar girls get 3000LT minimum, some get more. I said like Eye and Jenny and she said she didn€™t know what they get, but the regular girls get 3000 minimum. Which is what everyone thought anyway, but the way she said it, it€™s like the girls have gotten together and made a pact of something.

I know I will probably get flamed for making the comment, but these girls act as if they are movie stars the way they act, like Guess Bar girls are the cr̬me of the crop so to speak, but I see great talent in Cascades too and the attitude isn۪t there.

Some of the girls in Guess Bar are great and you have to initiate the conversation, which I guess is what bothers people. They don€™t want to chase the bargirl, they want the bargirl to chase them.

I personally go with the girl who tantalizes me the night I go out. I don€™t care if it€™s a Cascade girl, an Obsession girl or a Guess Bar girl. If I€™m going to pay 3500 baht for a girl, it€™s going to be someone of stature like Eye, not someone I have to beg and plead with to show me some attention.

When I go into Cascades and Beer is being her sweet self and nuzzling my ear and asking if she can wake up with me in the morning and she asks if I will barfine her for 1000 baht, and she REALLY wants to go home with me, then she will surely beon my arm. To me, Beer from Cascades is a superstar in her own right and a real class act.

I will continue to stop in and use Guess Bar as a meeting place and I always hope to see a change in the place. I loved the old bar and continue to hope this new one will eventually take on the ambiance of the old one.

I suspect too that with this discussion going on and the negatives being said about the bar, I suspect Jay will be making an appearance more often.

I'd stick with the 1000 ST in another place if they were after 2-3k. Jenny seemed fine with 1k off me and didn't kicj up any sort of fuss. I guess it's all down to timing and their needs for rent, etc. Some will think I'm a Cheap Charlie but that's just me and I've never had a prob with 1k off anyone. Prima donnas often fail to perform as to their rep and I'd rather not find out to my cost. It wil be interesting to see jenny's attitude towards me next time I'm in the bar though! If i get attitudeits easy- drink up and go elsewhere, it's not as if we don't have a choice.

This one has really piqued my interest and I'm anxious to get over there next month to test out what I have learned on the forum lately.

Recent posts indicate a resurgence in the NEP joints. I've been in all those places at their god-forsaken lowest points (shit-pit level), but when Obsession or Cascades has it goin' on you're in for a great time.  

I do miss the old-school lounge effect at the previous Guess and I hate pool tables in a small room. Still, I always stop at the new place too, but don't stay very long. For me 3000 LT is what you make of it. My goal is to BF one or two "escorts" and head out on the town with them and a bottle of Johnny Walker. Whether it be to party all night at The Rising Sun in Thonburi or sitting cool on the riverside at KhinLom, I am going to be entertained and enjoying the company for a few hours of nightlife. Follow that up with a couple hours shagging and the price just does not seem unreasonable. It's all relative, but a 12 hour escort stateside = 52,000 baht.  

I visit LOS once or twice a year (since 2000) so I'm not sure whether the perceived friendly service factor has dropped off sharpely the last couple years like I believe it has, or it's because I'm more jaded than ever. I used to swing 70%LB / 30%GG, but the past 2 trips it's been reversed because the GG cuties have cost less, they've been more attentive, funnier, sexier, and for the most parts a better ROI in the sack.

That said, I am ready to bon temps roulez as soon as I reach BKK. Starting with a massage then directly to Guess...

You make the mistake of discussing rates with the girls , what do you expect the answer to be ?

The numbers will be played up for your benefit certainly not down .

I'll give you an example , I'm a (rather dodgy ) part time DJ , if someone asks me what I get for a night I tell them £200 , because its what Id like to get , I don't tell them I've done it for half the price or for free for the fun of it , start at the top and work down if needs be .

Perhaps a more relevant example  , I've been with eleven girls who worked or did work in Guess , seven of them long time and none of them got the minimum sum they quoted you , the amount I paid was sometimes agreed in advance , sometimes not , but everyone long time got exactly the same (because that is the biggest sin you can commit if you are gonna butterfly in the same bar )
Not one complained about money , and there were quite a few repeat performances .

Maybe I'm just lucky and everyones rent was due on the nights I was there  

If you get into these type of conversations you are going to encounter these type of situations .

In my experience the girls at Guess are no different than any other group of ladyboys in the bars of Nana in what they would like and what they actually get , and fair play to them if someone wants to pay them the big bucks good luck to them .

I was in Guess few times in my last 3 trips since september 2008, I always considered it a meeting point wt some friends
I dont like the girls attitude , in general quite disinterested, but it's good if you used the place for a few drinks with friends without pressure.
Having said that, not all the girls are "distant" , I had some pleasant light conversation and last time I decided to barfine Eats for the night...no problem wt price and attitude
In principle I would agree with TTChang but still a place for relax surrounded by beautifull ladyboy and always possible to arrange pleasant night now and then at reasonable price

Well i will say this....guess bar , old and new been to both places so......... i agree with the thing about the bar fine since it's not high and sometime non exsistant! the girls do think that they can claim what they want! well lets be very forward, i luv the bar but the way the girls r going with their expectations and manor, all i have 2 do is to pay more attention in the malls where there r alot of luvelys ,and if if i have 2 go 2 NEP i find the lady i like and go 2 a place that i like without going through the hassle of trying 2 make every1 happy....

Now I would have initially I would have to agree that maybe Jenny didn't like him, but when I was with Gate last month, she spent like an hour (at least) in my lap and had her tits out of her top * and flirted with me very hard * and she too said 5000LT. People said to me that she was giving me such a high rate because she didn't like me and didn't want to be with me. But if this was the case, why would she have spent so much time with me and she also gave me some information that saved me about $50,000 baht and this is something we discussed, all the while she was having carress and play with her beautiful breasts .

With regards to Jenny or Gate or Eye, if I wanted them bad enough, I would pay them any price they wanted. I gather this is why the guy continued to look at Jenny.

With regards to the rates, *I had been speaking to Ploy about the amount "she" gets for a LT or a take away for a couple of day type of rates. We had been discussing going to Pattaya for two nights.
She said quote "3000LT, we all get at least 3000" and I said "all of you?" and she said something like...."some get more, but I get 3000," The way she discussed it, it was like they had a meeting...haha and said, ok, lets agree we will all say "3000 baht" ok? We had discussed it for a few minutes as bar talk, but other than my asking her how much she wanted for LT, she offered most of the the overall info. As I said in the original posting, $3000 is a small amount to pay versus the rates in Amrica and especially considering the quality, so I never complain too much. But what I was asking referance too what the attitude that was given with the quote.

I am still going to go back and usually do once or twice a week, if anything to gawk and have a drink or two.

On a positive note though, Gong seems to have a better attitude as of late, he was coming off as pretty grouchy. Someone advised me to buy him a drink, which I did and he has been good ever since. Amazig what a little bit of change will do...haha

After a long night of drinking with excellent company, BMs & partners, myself & Naang Faa were given a copy of Ziggy's calendar. A labour of love on his part & a nice memento for a great evening.

As Ziggy was telling us about the girls he photographed, I had the sudden thought that they should both sign my copy. We then signed each others. Why? Because they are nice people & it personalised my calendar.

If that was construed as a sign of ego, I'm sorry. Anyone who knows me will confirm I am no celebrity.      

To twist such a simple thing the way you have is incredible to me. To actually sound angry about it says far more about yourself than any imagined transgression we may have committed.

Instead of taking potshots at good people you don't know, why didn't you walk up & say hello? We had all only met that night, one more BM would have been welcome.

That's one of the nice things about our clubhouse, we can arrive as strangers & leave as friends.

I was with TT for two nights at Guess and fully agreed with him about the first night...the second Jay was there with Mardhi and it was back to the old Guess..
The difference was obvious and it was like the old days so Jay is the glue that holds it all together.
