April is a promising month for a visit to BKK. Guess bar has been on the list of places to visit. The general negative tone of this thread is a downer. However it seems that customer going with the intent to have a good time still can have one. Complaining about whether a beer is served to me seems like a high level problem. More worrisome is the potential general snotty attitude. Still it sounds like a first landing at the GUESS BAR to get one's coordinates, is not a bad decision. Any constructive suggestions?

Sound advice, and not just about this site, but any site about Thailand in general.

Thailand attracts some pretty delusional souls

The bright lights, late nights and cheap sex does very strange things to a lot of people.

Thailand, Bangkok, Nana Plaza, Cascades bar and ladyboy 'Tai' are all part of the real world.

If you can deal with the real world, you can deal with ladyboys.

Man, I wish I could've been in that place the night Indianajones saw that, it would have made my year!!

This one line seems to back up the whole thread..... I have never been in the new Guess Bar location so can't comment on it, but if the group of potential customers [or, at least, available falangs] and LB's were yards apart from one another when Indiana went in that kinda says it all; in a nutshell, from reading this thread, the LB's who work in this bar are tired of seeing the same ol' faces who only come in to drink and chat with one another and never take 'em out.

* * *Me thinks if a horde of brand new Japanese gents walked in, as happens nightly at Obsessions, the girls would sprint to attention and be all over 'em ....... but the same ol' faces who are butterflying around BKK regularly and probably not going to take 'em out? I can understand their complacency in that case.

You are right, its become a bit of an expat bar where regular guys come to wine about ladyboys lol. Nothing wrong with that, these kind of bars have been around for years,only difference is this bar is a lb bar.
my recent triop to bkk and patts was great, had a few wonderful parties in guess bar and ezy bar, of particular note was the " Thegames', party on monday 5th jan, new years eve and boxing night where both priceless, the local cross dressers club were out in force.
I bar find 6 different girls from guess in the time i was around, so i guess not all the forum heros are just sitting and chatting amongst them selfs. far too big a generalisation.
Pentire and i were having a comp on who could bar fine the most.

after spending a lot of time on this forum, reading posts and whatever, i decided that i would go to the guess bar for my first lb experience. i chose it because it seemed like a place that was a little more mellower than nana (check), had sexy girls (check), and was a place where i wouldn't feel pressured by a horde of lb's (check).

i went in there on on the 31st and 1st. the first night i went kind of early because i thought that way i could check out the girls as they came in. i was nervous as hell but there were a couple of girls at the bar when i walked in. they all stood up and waited for me to choose one. i just wanted a beer but i ended up choosing jenny. well, that ended up being a good choice for me...she has decent english (can't speak thai yet, only japanese) and seemed to be the only girl in there with energy; constantly bumping and grinding all over me, hands all over the place. at first, i didn't know what to think.

there was maybe only one or two other guys in there and a few others came and went while we had a couple drinks. to my knowledge, in about the two hours i was there, i was the only guy who took anybody out of the bar. the other girls just played pool and stared at themselves in the mirror. i didn't really care if they talked to me because i already had my hands full.

i had wanted a LT but she told me it was 4000 because she doesn't like doing them. she was upfront about it and that was cool with me. i can understand that maybe she doesn't want to spend all her time curled up with some farang when she could be having fun...we settled on a ST price and off i went...i was afraid i may have overpaid (and maybe by some guys "standards" i did) but based on this post, i think i ended up somewhere in reality. anyway, she more than earned her money and left me happy...i had wanted to go again on the ST and she said if i gave her a "tip" she was game. i had no complaints about paying when i was finished.

the next night i went about an hour later, hoping that a few more girls would be there, maybe top (even though she annoyed me the night before by asking if i had seen her on the internet. even if i had, why the hell would i say that?). there were a few more girls there but no one payed to much attention to me but jenny came up right away before i could get my ass on a stool and gave me a kiss, etc...

i still was planning on sampling (i had told her the night before i wanted to butterfly) but i asked her to sit with me for a drink anyway 'cause i liked her style and she was fun. i told her i liked her but that i wanted a LT that night and she was too expensive. in the end i talked her down and we moved over to the couch to hang out and drink.

there were more guys that night but they were either talking amongst one another or sitting outside. it seemed like i was one of the only ones that was barfining. the other girls played pool, acted catty, or just hung out looking bored. there were a couple that came over and joked around with us but everyone seemed to leave us to ourselves (i guess you can't really have a conversation with someone when their girl is grinding her head into your crotch, eh...).

i told jenny i was hungry earlier and after a few drinks she told me that she'd go out and get some food for us. i thought that was a nice thing to do so i gave her some baht and she came back in about 15 mintues...we had another drink and i took her back to my room.

i had an awesome night and morning. she was always game and giving and took it like a champ. i had no complaints at all, except when she said she had to leave at 6 in the morning. i nixed that and she stayed until we were all done...i was pretty drained already after a couple of previous days with GG's but she told me "you come, then i go" in the morning. it took me forever but she was totally professional and took care of me.

so, all in all, i had a great time but, then again, i'm not a regular. i was glad i had someplace else to go for a first time than all of those noisy bars in nana. i'm sure i'll check it out next time but i do like guess; snotty girls and all.

After a very pleasant evening spent at Stogie's hacienda in the company of himself, Mrs. Stogie, Snick, Eyemark, Rob, Tomcat and Looker (not to mention the KC3 girls) Looker and I decided to head back into town and check out Guess.

Our expectations were just to have a few drinks and see what happened.

The experience wass a rather mixed one. A very nice lass took our drinks order and we were then 'approached' by a vacant nubile who proceeded to dress and undress beside us whilst checking herself in the mirror. An attempt to engage her in some light banter proved fruitless..

Then we spied 3 Lbs on the sofas opposite lounging around looking bored...sometimes looking in our direction. Let's go check that out...why not ? As soon as we sat down they upped and left

Ironically the only friendly ones who made any type of eye contact and smiles were the ones playing pool with a punter...

The evening was later saved by the appearance outside of one of the pool players, the lovely Vivienne. I had not recognised her from her pics as I think she is much more exotic in person, and now the black hair...

She is a class act in every way

So Guess was a bit hit and miss last night but everything turned out alright in the end
