Interesting pricing from Nikon. Band H in new york have the D700 for $3000 us
and in the digital-warehouse in sydney just under$3500 aus. with the aussie worth aprox 70 us cents, that means the aussie price is cheaper than the us one, if im nit mistaken>
We usually seem to pay more for stuff like this but seems now is the right price to buy before the new stock arrives from Thailand.

Marshal, found an excellent post about macro - have a look at this - although it is an A-mount (Minolta/Sony) forum, the information is universal. "IMHO", Getting more with Macro ...

Thankyou rxpharm, have just read the link, like you say the info is universal, luckily for me what i want to photograph shouldn't be moving, unless it has a trip report attached to it
I'm going to buy a 50mm macro,. as my  main use will be food photography.

Thanx donnnnny and rx i did exactly what i said i would not do! I took a trip down to MBK on my last day in bkk and ended up buying a 60mm macro! I am pleased now that i have made the investment, deep down i was always gointg to buy the bloody lense!

On a good note i managed to save £80 even with the crap exchange rates!
