I dont see too much South American football but on paper, If they had a manager, i would go for Argentina. As for the rest well it's all down to who Pinky and Perky (Blatter and Plattini) fancy 'handing' a decent run to.

Italy have no chance, worst squad i can EVER remember, i'll be surprised if they get through the group stage, England have a very poor defence and could also struggle to get through there 'easy group', Spain look the best European bet, however, looking at the odds i guess i'll put my tenner on Germany.

It really starts every 2 years taking all the qualifying matches leading up to it.

Your probably not a fan of soccer Jaidee but you might be able to get in too it more if you were in a small country like Ireland while they are playing in a world cup. Its great craic and the country nearly comes to a stand still

Lloris, Squillaci, Gourcuff, Toulalan, and Ribery are not muslims and they are all white. There used to be alot of muslims in the french side from north african countries but not so much anymore. Zidane was a muslim with his parents being from Tunisia and in my opinion he is up there with the likes of Pele and Maradona. Not so much George Best though as he was the best.

It's fairly obvious the French team is well represented with players of African descent. There is a high proportion of black players when compared to other European nations. For instance, did Italy have any black players in their team when they last won the World Cup? Most people have discounted the French but I reckon they will pull out some surprises this year.


Also, you can count Frank Ribery in as a Muslim as well.

And..

Zidane was born in Marseille to Smaïl and Malika, both Algerians of Kabyle descent.
