It would seem to me they should just open things up more internally and see how it goes, first without tourists.

What everyone really needs to know really is how many people have it or have had it.
Everyone is basing everything on how many are reporting sick, not how many were infected.

Compared to other countries the levels are very small. Surrounding countries are the same.
There is probably contributing factors like the heat and humidity.

I find it very suspicious that Google does not show the cases in China.

I am happy for the Thais. They have indeed kept their statistics low. They should be rewarded. Since we foreigners from infected lands cannot come over to help spread the disease we should indeed wait for a vaccine. I have a hunch Trump WILL order the FDA to release the vaccines earlier because they are indeed producing antibodies in the test subjects. China is sending about a hundred thousand vaccines to be tested on poor Brazilians without much testing beforehand. This is a rare advantage of Communism. But, of course, President Jai Bolsonaro will be obligated to do more business with China and steer away from the USA. Awful but brilliant tactic. China is clever. BTW, are you aware that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is coming to Honolulu?

Frontier are being reopened in Europe, but we need to know what's the regulation in each country. A few countries want people either to be tested or stay quarantined before entering. Anyone goinf to the UK must stay in quarantine (actually 14 days). I don't know if Brits must be quarantined when they go to Continental Europe. The last negociations run is being held. The date won't be reported this time and if they fail to find an agreement, that'll be a no deal.

Italian restaurant owners in Venice complain that they have no customer. I let them cry. Evn though Venice is empty, I am not going there to catch the virus. I will wait till I get vaccinated.

Funny I just checked Bangkok Novotel Sukhumvit 4 and my Pattaya Sunshine Hotel, and they ARE taking reservations for this coming Christmas season. On8 Hotel is still shut down. I am wondering what will happen to the buffets brunches at the Monsoon Restaurant in Bangkok's Soi 8 and the same at the Bangkok Sheraton and JW Marriot. They are fantasic dining experiences like Waikiki's. I would suggest they show the dishes behind glass windows and just fill the plates and bowls by pointing with fingers. I read somewhere they would change to prepared plates of fruits, soups, different meats, eggs, etc. I prefer holding my own plate and selecting my own choices. I want my Freedom of Choice.

I tell you what : you've got people who will rush as soon as frontiers will re open. Up to them. I don't really belive Thailand is a Covid dangerous country but it could be one if too many people rush there at the same time.
Another option consists in waiting a little bit. I am not ladyboy countriy addict so I will wait till I get vaccinated. hopefully vaccines will come earlier than what I had expected. I benefit from another protection : a positive BCG. It seems fairly efficient. You could wait till you are vaccinated. It's not a big deal to lose a couple of months.

My local HPD cop union has made large contributions to the top Mayoral candidate with money, union endorsements, and televised support of this schmuck Blangiardi. But. I have no interest in the business but if you still have problems going to Thailand because of bars not re opening, I'd like to remind you that bars re opened in Vietnam 7 weeks ago already. A crisis is always an opportunity to change habits and take the risk to experience something better.
