A civilized country imho can not have a death penalty in this day and age.

There have been, and will continue, many instances of wrongful hanging/death.

I realise when one is personally affected by horrendous crime then ones views are changed, but one must look at the bigger picture.

Death Penalty is little or no deterrent in those countries that have them.

People should be allowed to exact vengeance for being wronged.

Over 100 people in the UK last year were given a caution for violent rape because society in the UK refuses to stand up to violent crime and simply can't be arsed to take it seriously.

These things go unpunished or the punishments handed out are a fantastic joke.

Who cares if hanging is a deterrent or not? I don't. But if it makes the victims feel good then I say let's start doing it again and fucking soon!

I am totally Indifferent about the death penalty.
My biggest concern is if justice has been served to the accused fairly and accurately.
If justice has been served fairly then I am totally Indifferent on what kind of punishment issued.
Of course Home Arrest as a punishment for Violent offenders does make me pull off my indifferent hat.

There are far too many cases were the punishment does Not fit the crime. I am more concerned with this than some Violent rapest or murderer getting Hanged till dead.

murder a child just try to avoid allegations,it could make things worse ...

This 'Peds under the bed' attitude in the UK is a media inspired witch hunt. It's great fun seeing the great white unwashed in Britain accusing everyone they see of child abuse!

In my view - child abuse is making them go to church, smoking/drinking/drugging in front of them or forcing them to work on rice fields or sweat shops. I would hang people for that.

Then again I'd hang just about everyone! I'd quite happily pul the switch to eliminate 80% of the worlds population... and I could sleep much BETTER at night.

before you make sweeping statements and opinions,think on this,how would you feel if these rules were applied you and your family which they could be.
how would you feel if it were you yourself your mother father brother sister or sibling who was just about to die......and you knew 100% their innocence?
think on it,this subject should not even be debated.

Yeah am sure people have been sentenced to death in the UK when they were innocent, but in what century or decade. Back then they didnt have forensic science like they have now, so the chances of making a mistake in charging someone with a serious crime like multiple murders and sentencing them to death is slim.

There is a flip side to your other point. What if it was YOUR mother, father, sister, brother, niece, nephew or any other family member, brutally murdered or raped. Your opinion on this might change.

Me personally if anyone done anything serious like that to anyone in my family they would end up in the boot of a car and brought to a pig farm, because you just wouldnt get justice in Ireland or the UK.
