IN Australia (and unless I have missed it on the news) I think we still the worst massacre on record by a gentleman named Martin Bryant at Port Arthur, Tasmania.
Many witnesses and without a shadow of doubt guilty as sin. Yes hang him.
As long as there is overwhelming evidence.

getting a life sentence in a thai jail would be a penalty far worse than death.
the problem is, the jails in the uk are country clubs.
so the victims family do not feel like punishment has been given.

Yeah he was guilty as sin, but hang him? The guy is mentally disabled and has the brain of an 11 year old child. No country in their right mind would sentence a retard to death. He got nearly 2500 years to serve in prison, I think that should be enough for him.

That's purely a Kantian view, a Utilitarian view on the law would say that one dead innocent is a price worth paying.

This subject should be debated heavily and the wishes of a democratic society carried out.

I think Singapore holds the highest per capita execution rate in the world. Last time I was in Singapore I remember been in a McCafe and some guy went to the toilets and left his laptop, phone and wallet at his empty table. If he done that in Ireland or the UK I'd give it a 50/50 chance it would be nicked.
