i notice a lot of these "stars" with money coming out of their ears, and can have anything they want, seem to still yearn for something else.
either there is nothing left for them to try,
or they want to be part of something.

they would be better off joining our sub culture community, and sprinkling a bit of their ridiculous amount of coin in thailand for a far greater reward.
    you cant polish a turd.

Just a bump of an old thread cause everyone seems to be debating conspiracies and politics here recently so lets reignite religion. Here is a great video of the late George Carlin talking about religion. Its sums it all up for me. I will admit I am contradicting my earlier posts with this video.

Carlin was the BEST of all time, man....happy you like him as well.

Funny how people can rip on me in these threads and say I am full of shit or wrong, superiority complex, far left-wing, etc......all good, and I can take the hits if I am proven wrong on certain topics;  but it's strange how the top 5 threads in this forum right now were all started by myself and by far have the most posts and replies right now; I must be doing something right if they are getting people to respond.

So would it be better to NOT start thought-inducing threads which are interesting and make us all respond and add in our thoughts, but which at the same time get us somewhat hostile or mildly angry at one another, or better to just sit on the sidelines and chime in every now and then with the ubiquitous  "ya, you are right guys, number 17 at Obsessions IS a real babe''.

Give me these types of discussions/arguments any day.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

I can't explain why a boy who looks like a girl but with a sexy cock turns me on!! And you want an explanation behind how we evolved... I have no hope

That we evolved is of little doubt.

How exactly we evolved is more complex and most Scientists accept the modern synthesis combining Darwin and Genetics is the way forward although these theories are advancing all the time as do all Scientific theories. Unless one understands Horizontal Gene transfer its pointless even talking about the latest advances here.

You cannot understand everything all at once. It takes time and perhaps eternity to ponder these things. However its better to listen to an evidenced based answer than a faith based one. ( IMO)

I like what Frank Lloyd Right said when asked if he believed in god. He said, "I believe in god, but I spell it nature."

Nope...Just your normal regular everyday former atheist...

This is an interesting post because one of the central ideas of both Hinduism and Buddhism is "Tat Tvam Asi." it translates as You are that.
                    Makes sense to me.
This can be a tricky state for some people, because what they fail to realize is that while they may be god, so is everyone else.  Eastern philosophies do not conceptualize "God" the same way as western religions. I think the Chinese idea of the Tao, as the way of nature is good example of this. The idea of an omnipotent being  that is somehow apart from nature is quite anathema to many Eastern ways of thinking.

This post doesn't make any sense without the image in the original post.

(Tomcat @ Oct. 28 2009,02:12) Think about this

Eventually man will come to generate Artificial life within a future computer. It will probably happen within the lifetimes of people living now and its easy to see that at the rate of technological progress such life will be intelligent... say in a 100 years time..

Can you imagine the technology available in a 1000 years time. the Computer  universe will be as real as the butter on your toast.(IMO)

It begs the question that we could be living in one of these Universes now..like a giant experiment..look up the work of Ray Kurzweil and others and one can see that this is not quite the joke it seems

Check out Kurzweil ... he is no loony thats for sure
                        http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Raymond_Kurzweil

PS his lates work on AI isnt shown on Wiki but if any are interested ill dig out some other links on this. The likes of Paul Davies and many respected scientists have a angle on this subject.

One supposes that if we were living in some giant computer program then who made the program?...
to answer your last question: we did.
not the we that we see ourselves as now, but the we that we are in the distant future when we created this simulation with little more effort than people now spend making youtube videos.

the more closely scientists "living" in this sim-world examine the nature of reality and the tiniest building blocks of material existence, the more complex this dynamic and self-evolving simulation/universe becomes. it's no stretch of quantum theory to say that until man looked through a telescope, the black void and twinkling lights of the night sky was all the detail the universe possessed. as our technology and curiousity grew, the evolving complexity of this simulated universe stayed always a step ahead. from the four elements, to the atomic table, to quarks, and now to strings. and ultimately strings -- themselves unimagined (by us) only a few decades ago -- will be determined to exist in only two forms in this binary universe. you can call these two forms, zeroes and ones if you like. the zeroes exist entirely in this universe. the ones exist partially in this universe and partly in at least one other. for example, gravity consists mostly of 'ones' and is thus by far the weakest of the basic forces in our universe -- because its strength is spread throughout -- and thus shared by -- multiple multiverses; whereas EM, nuclear and weak, are entirely constructed of zeroes -- and are unique to --and thus only powerful within -- this specific universe.

every bit of this universe is created out of the virtually infinite recombinations of these zero-strings and one-strings. but they are so small -- infinitely smaller than the particles the hadron collider hopes to discover -- they can never be seen by anyone (or anything) observing from within the same universe. so their very existence will always be a matter of faith. and while "faith" in "string theory" (or the Big Bang, or multiverses, or dark matter) might be more logical than faith in the virgin birth, it is still, ultimately, faith.

so, how did we get here? it's more true than not to say that however you believe we got here, that's how we got here. or at least, that's how *you* got here. but since the universe in which i am now typing out this post was totally created by me, for me, to relive and/or reimagine a life i had long ago, if ever, because in the time and place i now live, i prefer the virtual reality of this universe to my own -- this universe is created however *I* believe it was created.

if you don't believe me, just re-read kahuna's shirt. or tomcat's insightful posts -- or follow his links...

or leave the fishbox and go look at pix of ladyboy cocks. that's why i had all of them put there -- and then wrote this post to remind my fellow sims whose own universes overlap with mine (lots of one-strings in these words) -- since you're here, however you got here, wherever the hell "here" even is -- the best thing you can do about it is enjoy!
                        so enjoy.

The Multi verse theory seems to be the main contender now . This stipulates that all things that can exist do exist and that there are an infinity of Universes .. some have life and some dont. And some are virtual.

Paul Davies covers this in the Goldi locks enigma as to why everything in our Universe is just right for life and fine tuned to such a degree that even a small change in the constants would mean we would not be here

However with an Infinity of Universes this problem ceases to be as all possible Universes are out there. Seems like a cop out but it makes sense.

This theory may even be testable in time.

Also , are humans capable of understanding such matters anyway. Its like the Goldfish inside the bowl... they are never going to figure out what lies beyond the bowl ( the goldfish that is).
