Conspiracies and conspiracy theory are fascinating areas of study.
I think most of us, or maybe it's just me and few other loonies out there, are convinced that we're being lied to.
I'l try and break this down to an enthymeme:
The media and the government are lying to us.
We remain ignorant about important issues that affect our lives.
Therefor there is a vast conspiracy out there that is controlling the show.

This is clearly flawed logic. It is a huge leap form "we're being lied to," to "there is a vast conspiracy controlling the show."

It is amazing what you can find if you look hard enough.
More than few people have driven themselves quite mad obsessing over this stuff. Consider the tin foil hat brigade.

To be fair, I don't think Nemesis said that there was one vast conspiracy, but it was implied in his posts.
It seems more likely to me, given what little I know about human behavior, that there are a bunch of smaller, competing conspiracies out there. Sometimes they are in conflict with each other and at other times one or more of them may join forces to fight against others. That seems like the more likely scenario to me.

We should start our own conspiracy of middle age ladyboy fanatics to protect our interests.

I can see where you're coming from, as when I first read that statement I had a titter at it also, and like you I only concentrated on the first line.

First I thought he was being sarcastic with that statement, against the UN, as it was formed to stop all wars and disputes from when it was formed. But of course we all know how corrupt and useless it is, and I thought he was just having a dig at them.

Then digging into it farther, I realized he was talking about wars with US involvement, before and after the UN was formed, which 198 wars are listed after the UN was formed...well so far! 198 too many.

I would have to agree with that Strobe, as you put it €˜human behavior' there has to be smaller conspiracies out there, and do have conflicts, but too small and at the bottom of the pyramid. But closer to the top, the CFR, G8, and the Bilderberg Group that is another story.

Morgan, among others making their prophets from 13 billion to 300 billion in that period. I don't want to get into it too much but I suggest you get a hold of it; the segment is called "The price of oil" 11th Jan 2009.

2007 The Bilderberg conference was at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, in Şişli, Istanbul, Turkey.

Then in 2008 the Bilderberg conference was at the Westfields Marriott in Chantilly, Virginia, United States. But the same day the conspiracy theorists camped outside the Marriott hotel caught them both entering the hotel that morning. Later the same day Clinton stepped down as runner for the presidency, what a coincidence!

When Tony Blair stepped down from office, who gave him a job? Yep J.P. Morgan! And not only that, the powers that be, gave him a fictitious diplomatic position for the Middle East, and now they want to make him King of Europe.

Obama in his speeches has said, time to change the US creditability to the rest of the world, so that they can carry on with a €˜New World Order'. He has said that twice this year.

And now we are in a financial disaster world wide, caused by the same names, but these same names like J.P Morgan are untouched by it, and is actually prospering over it by regularly buying out bankrupt small banks and corporations for next to nothing.

Although I can agree with you in what you say, but I don't think small conspiracies could pull things like this off

PS; Nemesis is a mythical Greek god, I am not! And I can choose to spell my handle anyway I like. Just like thousands of companies, rock bands, dance groups, and thousands on face book. I spell it Nemisis, just as it is in the €˜Urban Dictionary'. Dictionaries are compiled by individual such as you and I, so what gives them the right to dictate to everyone else how a word is spelt, is it a law?

Ask any scientist, and that scientist will tell you that words are totally foreign to the human brain. The human brain does not record the words you are reading from that book, it records in picture form and stores it in the archives of the brain, to be recalled at a later date when needed. For example;

You read that horror story last night in bed, and it gave you goose bumps. But the words didn't give you the goose bumps, the images did. Because the brain is automatically translating the words into images wile you are reading. This is the only way it can store the information in its archives.

Now let's say a week later you meet your friend in a bar, and you tell him "I read a great book last week". And he will ask "Really! What was it about?" And you begin to tell him the story. Do you recall the story from the archives of your brain in words?

No! You will begin to tell the story from an unraveling picture form, like a Hollywood movie, you will see no words at all, wile you are standing in that bar with your friend, telling the story. Think about it!

Another example is €˜Speed Readers' flicking quickly through the pages of a book with the amazing ability to recall any part of it. But are they reading the words?

No! They are actually taking photos of each page and storing them into the archives of their brain. They are later asked to recall a certain page, chapter, sentence, or word. They will recall that photo of that page which has the words on, in their mind and then read. A photocopy is a better word for this.

You got a good bit of knowledge there buddy, and I totally agree with your in-put. And yes you listed some of the weird stuff that is way too much. I am not a paranoid person, I just like to sit back and see how far these things will go, but at least I am armed with the knowledge that makes it no surprise. I can't see the ordinary working people around this little world of ours, letting it go too far, remembering that the people in power would have nothing without these ordinary folk, after all that's who they are getting their wealth from.  

Had to laugh when you mentioned Opus Dei, as my biggest target is the Vatican, and all the rest of the religions. Now that is brain washing in its truer art form from ancient times, and when I see the little paranoid guys with the tin foil hats on, then I look at the gullible sheeple in the congregation of these churches, and I think to myself "Now that's real paranoia".

And about human behavior! Why the fuck do we need religion in this day and age in the first place?
