Seeing as Iran is complying with all it's VOLUNTARY nuclear stuff where is the problem? When is the USA going to allow inspectors access to all it's programs??

Time to resurrect this thread. All those Iran bashers, where's your similar words on Honduras, and why no complaint about Israel hijacking a peace boat in international waters. Today Obama in Russia trying to smooth over Bushes "foot in mouth". Good luck Mr Obama. The Russians really did take on "trust but verify" because they found out that some parties cannot be trusted. Some thing about "forked tongue" often known else where as "rampant hypocrisy" Meanwhile over in finance land. Perhaps some of our financial gurus here on the board can comment?

There's a big difference between an inventory-driven recession and a credit-driven recession. An inventory recession is caused by a mismatch between supply and demand. It's the result of overcapacity and under-utilization which can only work itself out over time as inventories are pared back and demand builds. Credit-driven recessions are a different story altogether. They typically last twice as long as and can precipitate financial crises.

The current recession is a severe credit bust of Depression-era magnitude....

I have not been able to reconcile the rhetoric with the actions of Obama. He gives speeches about reforming the financial system. He talks about a better way, yet he puts in charge of the reform the very people who bought about the collapse. Larry Summers, Tim Geitner, Ben Bernanke, they are not bringing new thinking to the problem, their involvement will ensure the end of the US banking system & the US dollar.

I kept wondering why Obama had made such an about face in his policy. Just who had got to him? What the hell was he thinking?

Then I was alerted to this movie. It is long at 1 hour 53 minutes with propaganda of its own, but the story presented here does match with the facts of what is happening. I watched it & now recommend it. Please post any comments.

Hannity, Oxycotin Rush, and Anorexic Slut Coulter are prime examples of why there is such a divide between the right and left in the US now. Them along with the Farrakans, Jesse JAcksons etc create not only a divide but a level of animosity bordering on a new civil war. The hatred spouted from these idiots is disgusting and scary. Instead of supporting what we have in office now they are dedicated to seeing how soon the administration and the country fails.

Give me a Lindsay Graham who refused to cave to conservative pressures and endorsed Sotamayor based on her overall record instead of her political leanings and the statements made in the past.

Conversely I was severely disappointed that Obama even acknowledged the ignorant question about the Gates flap during his news conference the other day. The Press conference was about health care reforms and not a petty argument between a compulsive African American and an overzealous cop. When the question was introduced the correct response would have been that this is press conference on Health care and the proper forum for this debate instead he added fuel to a stagnant fire and that was not a presidential thing to do. I admire Barack's blutness usually but to state that the cops acted "stupidly" when he was just a casual observer of the complete story was not wise.

Its situations like this that ignites the Oxycotin addicts of the world.

This flap about Gates, the police and Obama's comments really pisses me off as well. What the fuck is the deal with police worship in this country? Well said smutley, but I'm afraid there is precious little room for moderation in the US media these days, it is all given over to the ideological gasbags like Al Sharpton, Hannity & Glenn Beck ( who was going on about FEMA "re-education camps" being constructed the one time I watched him, I think he is literally dangerous because he just makes things up.)

Altho in the past I considered myself more libertarian than anything, the nonsense on FOX news ( & the Iraq invasion) has caused me to be less "idealistic" about my voting..... President Palin anyone? (shudder.....)
