  • (Torurot @ Sep. 29 2011,22:25) Speaking of that useless piece of shite.....
    shite.. i think not.

You must be smoking magic mushrooms or similar

One reads between the lines in all newspapers but its one of the only good reads that hasnt got sucked in by the whole Politically correct loonies who pander to everyone but the people that gave UK any meaning of what it means to be a Country... that has long gone .

Its not Right Wing enough IMO but the others are only fit for Guy Fawkes Night , or The Festival of the Stars as the Liberals now renamed it,

Political correctness is bullshit , i opted out of that crap a long while back. It was invented to that Labour could repeal the 1971 Immigration act in all but name. So much for Democracy then .. another illusion

he is a greedy hypocritical useless piece of Shite and i think the History Books will write him down as the most hated guy in the Hiistory of the UK. He is responsible for a lot of the issues we have now and he has fucked the UK up big time and for all time.

I hope he and his family all drown in some terrible accident..

        • Tony Blair is a member of the Fabian Society, a secretive bunch of socialists whose aim is to bring down successful western democracies.

I think they would have given him a medal for services to the society. He certainly did them proud. As for the UK, he & his successor Gordon Brown, another Fabian member I believe, have brought the place to its knees.

I honestly believe that Great Britain can never recover from the damage that pair of clowns have done. Before the UK works through the mess & restores its economy, it will be a Muslim nation operating under Sharia law.

It is amazing to read some of the names who have benefitted the most from British Capitalism, yet who count themselves among the ranks of these deluded socialists. Screaming for the introduction of a carbon tax in order to save the planet, that's the most obvious example of how they can be deceived into shooting themself in the foot.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

                http://j.mp/vZ2fnM (TheNextWeb)

The government of Thailand has contacted Facebook to request the
removal of more than 10,000 of its pages that are deemed in breach of
laws preventing the defamation of the country's royal family.

Local Facebook users risk violating the computer law unknowingly by
pressing the "like" or "share" button included with posted comment on
anti-monarchy messages on the most popular social networking site,
Information and Communication Technology Minister Anudith Nakornthap
said on Thursday. Anyone doing so could be arrested on charges of
violating the Computer Crime Act and committing lese majeste because
the law prohibits the dissemination of content deemed insulting to the
monarchy, he said. Facebook users should not press the ``like''
button or post comments on lese majeste-related content.

How about this for a way to prod these Neanderthals into the 21st

Be sure to read the part about the 61-year-old man just handed a 20

                • With the Euro fucked and in the end game you can bet that many EU cities will decend into rioting by the summer , its a given now and better take a hard hat if your travelling to Spain or Italy next year.

The middle classes have ecaped the downturn in the main but unfortunately its their turn next as the ever advancing world of technology wipes these jobs out as well . Reading the economist last week it was pretty gloomy reading. Computer power is increasing so fast that many professions will be at least decimated and probably worse as these jobs become computerised and cannot be replaced. Solictors and like will have a tough time in the near future for basic work and will many others.

One newpaper even got an automaton to write a baseball report and no one noticed that no human reporter was present at the game and only edited the end result.

I rarely speak to anyone at the bank and the foreign exchange is now 100% automated and so i lost touch with guys at the FX desk now as well...progress eh

                      • I didn't write this!

Live by the market, be buried by the market

Margaret Thatcher is one of Britain's greatest criminals, whose disbelief in society caused her to destroy it. As a former Prime Minister, she is in line for a state funeral when she dies (which will provide a focus for protest over her toxic legacy). Which is rather ironic, given her beliefs about the role of the state. And so someone has started an e-petition (a formal UK government consultation exercise which can trigger Parliamentary debates http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/how-it-works ) demanding that her funeral be privatised: http://epetitions.direct.gov.uk/petitions/18914

In keeping with the great lady's legacy, Margaret Thatcher's state funeral should be funded and managed by the private sector to offer the best value and choice for end users and other stakeholders. The undersigned believe that the legacy of the former PM deserves nothing less and that offering this unique opportunity is an ideal way to cut government expense and further prove the merits of liberalised economics Baroness Thatcher spearheaded.

And they're right. Thatcher was an anti-statist. Surely she should live - and be buried - by those ideals, rather than leeching a final fling at the expense of hard-working taxpayers. Anything less would be hypocritical.

Meanwhile, on the Guardian, Sunny Hundal http://www.guardian.co.uk/comment....-legacy has some ideas on what Thatcher's privatised funeral could look like:

Consider the endless possibilities, for die-hard Thatcherites, of privatising the event. I think we can agree it should be ticketed so it can turn a profit. Perhaps an IT company (let's call them Crapita for example), could sell tickets via the internet. You may have to wait a couple of months to get the system off the ground but at least it'll work €¦ eventually. If it's anything like the privatisation of the railways, none of the funeral services would run on time and you'd end up with 500 people in a church meant for 200.

But there could be optional extras otherwise denied by the state. You could pay to have an opportunity to wail, as North Koreans seem to have perfected. Wailing while stabbing a picture of Arthur Scargill should obviously cost much more. Opportunities to sell Thatcher memorabilia (a picture of her with Pinochet, sir?) would be endless. It could even boost our sagging economy.

The television rights to the event should be auctioned off, perhaps for a private library dedicated to Thatcher (with John Maynard Keynes banned from the economics section of course).

Unmentioned: selling the right to spit on the corpse or piss on her grave (because its going to happen, so they might as well get money for it). Hell, they could even provide the service, so that those unable to attend in person could have someone do it for them.

Morality? Taste? The market does not know of such things. And if you're happy with the mass unemployment, poverty and degradation which were the inevitable result of Thatcher's policies, you can hardly get prissy about a little matter of degrading a corpse. But if you want to be hypocritical about that too, you can always pay for it not to happen. That's what the free market would want.

                            • Censorship-happy Thailand and China embrace Twitter's new censorship policy

                              http://j.mp/AeBnta (Foreign Policy)

"When Twitter unveiled a new system last week to censor specific tweets
in specific countries if the content violates local laws, many people
reacted in anger. Some spent Saturday boycotting the service.
Reporters Without Borders penned a letter denouncing the move.
International microblogging celebrities such as Ai Weiwei and Mahmoud
Salem took Twitter to task. "Thank you for the #censorship, #twitter,
with love from the governments of #Syria, #Bahrain, #Iran, #Turkey,
#China, #Saudi and friends," Swedish Twitter user Bjrn Nilsson wrote.
In fact, Nilsson wasn't so far off. Since Twitter's announcement,
voices in countries where free speech is tightly restricted have
rushed to the company's defense (others claim Twitter's new rules are
                              actually good for free speech)."

                              - - -

Regardless of your own motives, when the censors praise you, there's
one thing you know for sure -- you're not seen by them as fighting
                              *against* censorship.
