Once I sat next to a Scotsman in a bar on Soi 4 over looking the early evening parade. I knew few words in Gallic and he found that very interesting. I told him I was from Canada and he went on and on about his ancestors who immigrated to Canada and so on and so forth. He was deeply "into his cups", smoking like a WWI private buried in the trenches, raising his voice (like the Scots can do) with spital flying through the air. He was funny and I enjoyed the performance. At one point a stunning lady walked by and I gazed in her direction. He tapped my knee and said: "Be careful young fella, that be not a lass, that would be a laddieboy!" I enjoyed that moment and found it and him very amusing, hahahahha.

I fucking hate the American kids on that MTV show Sweet 16. I would love to see a follow up series about the parents who lost all their money with Enron or something and are still paying the bill for the priceless silver spoon they lodged in their childs ass.

Even the immigrants have started doing these large scale parties now. Ever been to a quinceanera? They can be extremely ostentatious as well. One of my neighbor's friends had one recently that cost several thousand dollars. It was like a friggin' wedding.
