Thanks Guy! Here is my favorite Charlie Rich song:

“When a nation's young men are conservative, its funeral bell is already rung.”
      ― Henry Ward Beecher

"Inflexibility is the worst human failing. You can learn to check impetuosity, overcome fear with confidence and laziness with discipline. But for rigidity of mind, there is no antidote. It carries the seeds of its own destruction." ~ Anton Myrer

Speaking of country bumpkins, which some may consider me to be...even though I'm really not...totally anyway. IMO, Cal Smith has a great voice, very under appreciated.

Thanks Guy! That is a good video to clear up a common misconception about Dr Hook and the Medicine Show. Many people mistakenly assumed seeing the group that Ray "Eye Patch" Sawyer was Dr Hook and the lead singer. That video shows clearly the real lead singer, Dennis Locorriere, who most people have never heard of. His very distinct voice is featured in that video as well as Sylvia's Mother, and most of their other big hits. Sawyer sings too, and now tours solo, and has a good voice. But, when you hear him, you don't hear that voice that IMO basically identified Dr Hook during their heyday.

Here is another of their hits, with Dennis singing lead again. Dr Hook owes most of their success IMO, to his voice and singing ability.

One more of Dr Hook's greatest hits. Nice video featuring stills of some of Hollywood's all time beauties.
