I fly Qantas about 4 times a year domestically and probably 2-3 times a year internationally, and dont rate it anywhere near as good as Singapore or Malaysian air.((based purely on staff service , friendliness and efficiency)
About the safety aspects of these airlines I have no real knowledge, but wasnt Qantas trying to off load 3000 jobs out of Australia to other countries, including maintenence contracts, not so long ago.
If this happens I doubt their record will remain unblemished.
Malaysia or Singapore for me.
From what I can tell southwest is basically a domestic airline so seems your comment is actually more accurate for them in terms of going nowhere.
Hey, I'm just joking about the truth.
Anyway, that page is really scary. The way they just nuke LA when I scroll over it!!! Yikes!
As for Southwest - can Qantas turn around a flight in under 15 minutes? Didn't think so...
Retired the top 12. Need a new dirty dozen.
Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon. Is it possible to find 5 more? Until then, GGs: Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.
I always fly Japan Airlines (JAL), I get a great rate, all seats have a TV, and they are the most flexible in terms of booking, since I often fly from Bangkok to the East coast of USA and then return from the West coast. JAL always lets me do this. Other airlines tell me I have to pay for 2 one way tickets.
KLM...hahaha... are you nuts or is that a joke?? The worst ever, well maybe there are some worse in central Africa, but definitely the most unfriendly pursers. Believe me, I was flying at least twice a month with this shitbomber! Cambodian Airlines and even continental Chinese Airlines are better!!!
Singapore Airlines is missing and the best i.m.h.o.!
I have flown with Malaysian, BA, Qantas, KLM, Thai and Emirates to LOS and Emirates would get my vote because I have to fly out of Manchester ( I fuckin hate heathrow airport ) and their planes are modern, come with your own choice of entertainment and great service.
I was going to try singapore airlines next time but the journey takes a lot more time and was 250 pounds dearer.
I would fly THAI everytime if they flew direct from Manchester, just for the stewardesses
flying from Australia and being a very patriotic fella, i fly Singapore.
The foods better, they have personal tvs, they guive u plenty of booze and they dont treat u like crap like Ozzie hostess on Quantas, maybe thats why i dig LBS.
Voted Emirates, best value for money IMHO.
Singapore is very nice although I found it a bit unconsistant in the short haul flights but pricey. Pity they dn't emply some nice Malay/Chinese and Indian LBs. They would look nice in those sarongs
Do only what you think it's good for you, and not what others think should be good for you!
During my 3 last flights to LOS from Paris, ( sept - dec 05 and jan 06 ) I flew twice with Gulf Air, and once with Thai.
Thai wins my vote.
Gulf Air is down because of the very bad food quality..........
Miust be about the worst I experienced, bar some ex USSR flights...........................
Also lots of time wasted by stopping over in Muscate/Abhu Dabi/Barhain. But it is quite a bit cheaper too......
on my last trip back to dulland(farangland) i used thai air, and the food sucked big-time, a nasty mix of kao-man(oily rice) og geng-keo wan gai (green curry w chicken). the taste and smell stuck in my nose for rest of the trip and i felt fucking awful. usually the food on thai is ok. sort of farang food with a thai flavor. again, my vote goes to aeroflot, and i am not even 1/8 russian.
