Sorry could not resist.
Seems the survey was of over 12 million people so a reasonable statistical sample in anyones language.

Your Star Alliance miles are good on Sing. Their 18 non-stop from Spore to New York ios much better than Thai's non-stop from Bangkok.
If you have 60K Star Alliance miles you can fly:
USA to BKK
BKK to Bali
Bali to USA via Spore
all on one ticket.

Raymond: QANTAS. QANTAS never crashed.
Charlie: QANTAS?
Raymond: Never crashed.
Charlie: Oh that's gonna do me a lot of good because QANTAS doesn't fly to Los Angeles out of Cincinnati, you have to get to Melbourne! Melbourne, Australia in order to get the plane that flies to Los Angeles!

1927 - Mar24 near Tambo in Queensland, a DH-9C with 3 lost
1934 - Nov15 near Longreach, Queensland where 4 were lost
1942 - Feb20 off Brisbane (Belmont??) with a DH-86 where 9 were lost
after control was lost in low cloud
1943 - Apr22 at Port Moresby in a Shorts flying boat, lost control in
an emergency landing - 13 lost
1943 - Nov26 again Port Morseby in a Lodestar, 15 lost
1944 - Oct11 at Rose Bay (SYD) another Shorts. 1 lost, 29 survived.
1951 - Jul16 at Lae, a Drover lost the centre prop and 7 lost.
No fatalities since 1951 (Joe D's final year and Mickey and Willie's rookie yrear) is quite impressive.

My favourite Airline is also my least favourite - My favourite airline is the one taking me to LOS, so next Saturday its Air France, however, on the Jan 6 they immediately become my least favourite airline as they take me home againToo old to die young!
aeroflot? Don't they have like aging aircrafts that's why it's cheap. What's the safety record on aeroflot?
the planes they use for international flights are ok. from norway to russia and vice versa, they use quite old machines, and they are very crummy and small, and very windy(!!) too
i think they only have had a few domestic accidents. all arilines used in international flights have to follow the same rules for safety.
i never worry when i fly, but if there should be an accident when im on it, i would prefer it would be the flight back home.

Anyway, Southwest has my vote. A much safer record in fatalities per million miles flown. I don't think anyone is within an order of magnitude of them (actually, anybody with a fatality definitely couldn't be compared, right?). Even this little thing in Chicago - nobody on the plane died.
But, Southwest doesn't go to LOS. Oh well.
I hear Singapore is the best.
Then again, AirGoogle (or whatever Larry and Sergey call it) might be nice. Air Force One is a pretty sweet ride, too.Retired the top 12. Need a new dirty dozen.
Update: The new list is coming together: Nong Poy, Anita, Nok, Gif, Liisa Winkler, Kay, Nina Poon. Is it possible to find 5 more? Until then, GGs: Jessica Alba, Yuko Ogura, Zhang Ziyi, Maggie Q, and Gong Li.
