(grunyen @ Jun. 08 2007,03:51) Interesting how the US hasn't had another succesful terrorist attack, but has foiled dozens so far.

If you believe that, sure.
My involvement with the military and knowledge of government in general tells me that it is very unlikely that anyone could keep that a secret.
Some people need to believe that the moon landing was a hoax, that area 51 contains UFO's, and the Masonic Lodge secretly runs the world. If you're into all that Bilderberg, Bohemian Grove, Trilateral Commission stuff then no economic, political, historical discussion will sway you.
Just like everyone's favorite imaginary friend god, some people need to fill a psychological void with a mix of fear and relief that everything is controlled by some larger power and it is all out of their hands.
This logic leads you to believe that Karl Rove is OK with murdering 3,000 American citizens in an elaborate surprise attack, while Ossama Bin Laden is a saint. Sure, that makes perfect sense.

The ONLY part of the various conspiricy theories that I believe is that the US intelligence agencies did do their best to cover up the large number of errors and omissions they made in the days before the attacks.
I'm not saying they supported the attacks - only that when they realised that the information was there for them to see and they discounted it - they then tried to hide their incompetance.
This sort of behaviour is not confined to the US security services - or security services in general.
RR.Pedants rule, OK. Or more precisely, exhibit certain of the conventional trappings of leadership.
