It isn't that I wouldn't give them all some money for food, it's just that there are so many of them. When there are 60+ yo grandmothers sitting on Beach Road soliciting business as I type this, & you know they aren't there because they love sex, then you know something is wrong.
As for where Amm works, I am not sure. She was in a bar on WS but she didn't work there, try WS, the place is FULL of freelancers. App, the girl from Saturday night who is much more attractive IMO works Beach Road. I just walked past her & she did her best to come back to the room with me. I reminded her she couldn't fulfill her boast "I can do everything". She now says, two days later that she can, but they will say ANYTHING to get a customer.
I hope this message is getting through to new visitors to LOS, the girls will happily lie about what they will do to you once they are in your room. That they aren't being truthful does not worry them one bit. They are simply not concerned about what you may do to them. The old warriors here on the forum who once boasted how they would throw the girls out without a cent are completely ignorant of the new paradigm that exists here. All the girls (the drug-free ones at least) now work with the police who jump at the chance to arrest any farang who they can then escort to the station where you will be paying far more than anything you were originally asked for. And don't bother arguing that prostitution is illegal. You are farang & THE FARANG WILL PAY!! This can be very expensive indeed. And good luck if she's underage, a dumb Italian caught last week found himself 100,000 baht poorer (allegedly, he may have settled for 50K) even though she swore she was legal.
And on another note, some farang did something not too nice to a girl this week. I am not sure what his crime was but the particular gentleman is now fighting for his life in hospital. Two motor bike guys were approached to deal with the chap. The first one caved the fellas skull in with a pool ball, the second guy hit him over the head with a large stick. I can recall when I was told that such a service was available for the going rate of around 10,000 baht. That was years ago.
I asked what such justice cost these days as my informant knows the guys & is aware of all the details. "500 baht! And that was the total, they did it for 250 each!"
If the thought of being killed for less than 20 dollars doesn't make you behave, then I suggest you stay home. And as the anger against farangs is getting worse (we are after all, well fed, appear to have big money, we disrespect Thai culture unwittingly, & worst of all, we are screwing their girls for next to nothing) I am positive they would have done the same for free.
This is a very sobering post indeed Paccie. I, for one, would be very interested to read your perspective on the current state of things there. You have alluded to such matters throughout, but I feel you have held back somewhat to maintain the spirit of a TR rather than a wider view of the situataion.
