Streetwalker (Event organizer) posted on another board on 11Aug

In the current circumstances it is very difficult to confirm any date in the future.

Postponing until March was as a result of November looking less likely.

March was posted to provide an interim update which can be reviewed in December 2020 when there is more solid information about International travel.

March was also chosen to avoid Songkran in April and 'rain season' which can run from May until October.

If in December there is no sign of easing of tourists entering The Kingdom of Thailand then a further postponement may be necessary.

The Forum will be updated as more information becomes available.

I really appreciate what you are going through Rossco in having to continue to postpone the event. I sent a donation directly to the Pattaya Orphanage and mentioned that it was in lieu of donating through the LBWVB. They were very appreciative and in their reply they mentioned that Khun Tony and the LBWVB Pattaya group were very close to their hearts.

March is a no-go for me, but here's hoping by this time next year I'll be vaccinated and retired and finally be able to partake in this event (if it continues).

          I'll buy the first round.

Empty year for some events but not a lost year.

In spite of the shit that disturbed us this year, I didn't waste my time, especially when dealing with ladyboys.

Based on the sequence of events, November 2021 is looking pretty good.

Just hope China has nothing else up their sleeves. (or Bill Gates)
Hong Kong will never be the same and that is my favorite place to transit to BKK.

Have you ever flown through Taipei Crag? The trip I had booked for March was with Eva Air and had the stop over in Taipei (their main hub). They are Star Alliance and I was able to book business class with Aeroplan points. They had no fuel surcharges at that time...maybe the "new" aeroplan is different, but the fee was next to nothing. And who knows...you may be able to fly in the Hello Kitty jet.

I have flown Eva Air a couple of times - they have very good service. Food is good too. If the price is right, booking them for a flight to BKK from Canada would be a good option.

Taiwan look like it is similar to Hong Kong for a layover to Bangkok. Usually I get a 12 hour business class flight from Canada to Hong Kong, then it is only 2 hours from there. Tapei could be a similar stop and hopefully Air Canada will get more flights there. We can only hope China does not invade Taiwan.

Japan and Korea are ok but much longer flights to BKK. I was thinking of moving to Calgary where there is a direct flight to Japan but then it is still 7 hours to Bangkok.
It is really hard to get business class on the legs to Bangkok on those partner airlines. Eva has flights all the way to BKK from Canada so that could be good.

I have never flown on Eva Air but I have used their lounge because Asiana does not have a lounge at BKK.
This was part of one of my worst flights ever. I booked a return business class flight on Air Canada and the I was coming back through Korea.
The flight left BKK at 11:30pm and was very cheap compared to other business class itineraries. I wasn't supposed to get business class on the leg to Seoul/Incheon but Asiana upgraded me to the worst business class seat I have ever had. When i got to Korea at 6am I could not check my bags through and go to the lounge to wait for my flight to Canada. I had to exit to the main terminal with my luggage. Check in for my Air Canada flight was not until 6:30pm so I had to sit in the terminal with all my luggage for about 12 hours. I was eligible to go to the Asiana lounge but I could not access the concourse. Now i knew why it was so cheap.

Since my flight was very late flamingofarmer and I went and got drunk at Check In Bar before my departure. Not doing that again. By the time I got into the Eva Air lounge in Bangkok, I was quite drunk. As I sat there I started to feel more hungover and the Eva lounge decor made me dizzy. It looked like I was waiting for a Stargate transfer. Then on to the worst Business class seat ever on Asiana Airlines.

Sorry to hear about your bad flight back to Canada with Asiana - I've flown with them a few times as well - their drawback is the old business class seats that haven't been upgraded to the new layout due to financial issues. Asiana and Korean Air have agreed to a merger, with Korean being the surviving brand, which will take place by around the first half of 2021. If all regulatory and business agreements go through, Korean will remain part of the Sky Team Alliance and the Star Alliance membership Asiana had will be dropped.

How long do you spend both in flight and total time including transit to fly to BKK ? How long is a flight to Europe for you ?

Normally it is 12 hour flight to Hong Kong to Vancouver then 2 hours to BKK. Usually total time is 20 hours.
Flights through Europe are significantly longer from Canada.

I have flown Asiana many times and they are fine, the Business Class on this trip was unexpected. Just surprised how outdated it was.

The part that was bad was having to sit in the Airport Terminal for 12 hours at Seoul Incheon due to the long wait for my flight.
I assumed I would be spending the 12 hours in the Asiana lounge, instead I was kicked out into the Terminal to wait with all my luggage.
There is barely any place to eat or places to store luggage. They should have mentioned this on the flight itinerary.
Make sure to double check on late or long layovers. Asiana and Air Canada would not do anything after, they said I should have known.

Damm flight takes forever. I found it best for me to leave vancouver after midnight usually 2 or 3 am. Then I am pretty tired and ready to sleep. Last trip, I ate some pot gummies before I boarded and saved one for the mid flight... I manged to sleep the majority of the flight with headphones on and earplugs installed. I sleep light sort of and take the aisle incase i have to pee i don't wake anyone. I don't mind getting awaken as I can fall asleep easy. Last trip I recall sleeping for a long time and then checking and seeing 8 hours to go... then dozed off for another few more. Last trip I arrived BKK at 11am , picked up a sim card, cabbed to the hotel, showered and was at Big Dogs sipping a cold beer by 2:30pm watching Nana Plaza getting refortified....and at Why Not by 9:30pm....
