He is certainly out of favour now but when he was a regular contributor he was a life force to this place who drove traffic like no other.

After his heart problems it would be understandable him not wanting to put up with all the negative shit that has been thrown his way. He always said to me that the abusive comments really hurt him. Neither. I never spoke to him or saw him much. He was smart enough to not ask me for money - (although he very nearly did on a couple of occasions!)

I met him, didn't like him and I was cordial in the future, when we crossed paths.

Mardhi was with me when I met him for the first time before the bar opened. He'll tell you exactly what I thought of him!

It's an interesting story for sure and he did send lots of posts to the board but it didn't make me any richer. On the on the hand we pretty much put his bar on the map.

Pacman, you make a lot of good points, and it's certainly very generous of you to be so forgiving, but I did think it odd that you mentioned that Batman had "a good run making fun of Franck."  It's not as though he's a professional writer or comedian who has gained material from all this.  Batman is just a normal guy who lost a relatively large amount of money just as he was about to start his vacation. The forums and pay sites may have gained something from Franck (although, as SB pointed out, Franck's bar probably gained more from the publicity), but I don't think it's fair to make it sound as if good things came to people like Batman from losing their hard-earned money.  I hope that this whole thing gets settled peacefully and amicably eventually.  I don't think that Franck is a bad man.  He's someone who got caught up in a crazy lifestyle, and didn't listen to the warnings that were given to him by both his friends and his enemies. The level of emotions out there now will make it very difficult for Franck to accept your offer, but ...

I just can't believe you guys! I have just sat down to follow up my thread after dealing all bloody day with people intent on causing me grief to find I can't escape them even on the Forum.

First Stogie wants to offer prizes for the first to find Franck. Hmmm, that'll help us all get our money back, but then he isn't out of pocket & has nothing to lose by stirring everything up. I guess he needs to liven up the thread, it's his job. OK, that's fine by me, how Franck would react is another thing. Quite understandable if he has moved to a village on the Burmese border.

Perfectly welcome to do so, in fact I was expecting him to comment on a subject so close to his chest. A little support would have been appreciated, after all I did write in my opening that I would have paid him back his money myself had Franck told me.

God knows I was paying for everything else.

It was Batman's situation that upset me most of all in this circus & those who know him told me in October that it was so unfair & he was such a gentleman going ahead with his party at 131.

I refuse to make this personal with you Batman, the Forum is a small community & Pattaya can be a small place when there are only a handful of bars we frequent but exactly what are you intending to do?

I can't reveal my latest communication with Franck but he would repay everyone in a second if he could & I don't rule it out entirely. Sure we have every reason to question it but he wasn't known as the pirate for nothing. There's a scenario for you!

Lastly I seem to be misunderstood over my reference to Batman having a good run out of making fun of Franck. I would never suggest that it is an equitable trade-off, that Batman is compensated for his loss by being able to attack & make fun of Franck forever. Some of his comments are pretty funny, certainly brighten up my day & has anyone noticed his avatar lately? If the full sentence had been quoted it finished by saying "but you don't seem like the kind of guy who would carry a grudge for ever."

He's a conman - a very good conman - and many people have been conned.

Why you are still clinging to the idea that you'll get a dime back is beyond me.

Whether anyone (jokingly) offer prizes to the first person to spot him is not going to make any difference to what Franck does. He conned a few people out of as much as he could and tried to con many others.

That's what he does. If you really believe that he was ''caught up in a crazy lifestyle'' then please please rethink your perspective on this.

Of course Franck was a 'nice guy!' Of course many many people liked him. That is the MO of a con man! I'm getting increasingly frustrated by the amount of people who STILL think he's an OK guy!
