Probably one or more of these girls expected you to broach the subject of additional remuneration for services rendered, failing that they might have assumed that you might offer compensation, (by slipping baht into her handbag). Since you did neither, these girls chose not to create a conflict where one or both of you might lose face. Additionally, one or more of these girls might have expected to see you again in the future; asking for money now might have put you off from wanting to see them again in the future, and left you with the impression that they are not good girls.

It does cost you in some way but may not involve pulling out the baht at the end of the night. Maybe it is the promise(in their mind) of a visa and a better life in your country or simply you will look after them and their family. Gentleman, you may think you are getting something for free but we all pay for it in some way either financial or emotionally.
