Yaba is all over the scene in LOS. Funny thing is that all this bullshit "war against drugs" didn't do anything to reduce it. Just one big PR show - ridiculous!!!

I agree  with donnnnnny , it's all in the attitude,on my 1st lb trip to BKK  I met up with Joy at my hotel, and we went out for dinner (something I always do now, so I check her personality and body) we got a long fine, but after she wanted to show me around and took me straight to Obsessions, I guess it was early or quite, cause I was the only Farang in the bar, she left me alone for about 30 min, and the girls were all over, givin'me their ususal "what's your name, where you from routine", I bough a nice one a drink, and politely but firmly declined the other ones....even when I was trying to take a piss (which was difficult cause I was rock hard from a blue pill, dumb I know, was my 1st time) one (Cream) was wankin' me...but still you got to be cool about it, I gave Cream a good snogin' on the toilets, and went back to my seat and finished my beer...I think it was not only financial gain but also a sort of a test from Joy's part, to see how I would react with the ladies....

The war on drugs has had some effect, it is now more expensive. Yabba used to be 50 baht a shot
Now it is 350 baht a shot

A mate was telling me the penalities and focus on drugs now makes it dangerous to buy. So he only buys from the police and they drop him off at his house to make sure he doesn't get caught in possession

Last I heard ice was going for 3,000 baht for a packet (although not sure of the weight). I thought that was pretty ridiculous, but that much ice lasts 4-5 people an entire night of doping up. Don't ask me how I know this.

Believe it or not, cocaine is big here now. The Colombians are trading it with the Chinese for heroin. Fuck! Ice, ya ba, coke, all destructive drugs. What happened to the good old days when all you needed was a toke of some thai stick.  Nobody gets aggressive on ganja. You just giggle and get the munchies.  
I've had more than my share of encounters with speed crazed chicks on this trip. Not healthy.

shabu or methamphetamine hydrochloride or whatever you call it in your language is so so prevalent here in Cebu....so many are hooked into it....ladyboys, guys, even some women and it's a damn shame really...cause they leave the lives of most people who engage in them WASTED....i have personally seen the long term effects on ladyboys who use them and believe me you would really say it is destructive in many ways aside from the physical effects,,,,

there is assumably enormous political backing behind the illegal selling and purchase of this substance which is why the business is so hard to crack down...heck even the police are supposedly involved in it....

To answer your questions:

Yes - in my opinion, most LBs will be cool with you getting high with or without them. I've done it a few times with various LBs - and some who didn't indulge themselves, but had friends who picked up the slack.

Yes - they have all the connections, even the ones who are supposedly clean. I'm sure whatever price they quote you is about 500 baht higher than what they'll pay (or who knows, maybe they'll take your money and fuck the dealer) but who knows...

That said - I would highly advise you not to go down this path. For one, having drugs is illegal in Thailand and if the police find you, be prepared for a comfortable stay at the Bangkok jail. We've all seen the movie Brokedown Palace I assume. Additionally, getting high with a prostitute, especially one who would rob you blind given the chance, isn't the brightest idea. And third, who knows what kind of shit you'll be putting in your body. Many times drugs are cut up with all sorts of random shit, the risk of that alone makes doing this unappealing.

Being that i just a small taste of nana it is very true really what everyone is saying.

Newbies or virgin (damm long time since i have been called that) are easly spoted and targeted. My plan was to get a few regulars around me so i could deflect a great deal of the asking etc. It worked to a degree i went in with monkey man as a defence we where not bothered for drinks. But i was still a baby in a candy shop looking at everything that caught my eye or walked by. The girls can spot u a mile away and then you have target painted on your back.

Lesson learned this trip will be used on my next which if all goes well will be two weeks in length and not all spent at nana.
