Obsession bar has always been my favorite bar in NEP,the thing I like most about this place is that it€™s never dull. there is a ladyboy there for any taste: 100% passable, femboy, bolt ons, top, bottom, sideways, farang taste, Japanese taste, Arab taste, whatever the fuckin hell you want and the turnover of girls is pretty fast.
Pity that there seem to be so many girls there now who are high as kites. I'm not going to go on about drug taking, it's because I have done them myself in the past that I can spot the use of them so easily. I just hope the place doesnt go past the tipping point like KC3.
A warning to guys who head to this place to prepare yourself, you may get some stick, the older heads on this forum will have no problem as they are already known faces, but first timers are now more likely to encounter extremelly aggressive and sometimes openly violent chemically induced behaviour.
Just be wary of promising to barfine someone and then picking someone else or talking shite to someone for an hour and then taking home a service girl.
It's not just customers who are getting it in the neck either, it seems scores are being settled "after school" so to speak between the girls themselves. it's no surprise that at the same Casanova mafia has decided to boogie its way in to the joint.
I guess some of the luvvies on this forum will want to run and tell their fav girls about this thread, but this is just advice to potential first timers who ultimately,have forked out a load of cash to have a nice holiday and in some cases have waited years to do so for the first time. Cos if it had happned to you the first time you went, how shit would that have been.

I must admit that all the ladyby bars at nana have been quite intimidating for a newbie and all have their fair share of aggressive girls (on repeat visits they did remember me and left me with the girl i had barfined previously but I still wanted to get out quite quickly and take her to a beer bar or whateveer instead)

how do the bars at Pattaya compare? Is it similar or less pushy?

Obsessions is a great bar but not so user friendly as some guys make out. The last time i was in there with a buddy, Rico, one of the well known staff started shouting " you gay man, fuck off, fuck off" to Rico ....

Not really a warm welcome in my book.

I've always bought a drink for Mama San at Obs before I talk to any of the girls. Get in good with the mama san and your usually OK as the girls don't want to piss her off. Plus tell her what your after and she'll point you in the right direction. Mind you the Mama San in Cascades (used to work in Obs) is a total waste of space. Just wants to get drunk and points to all the girls when you ask him anything.

Good post Gunslinger. I'll have to second your thoughts...the number of girls smoking the wacky tabacky and poppin' the pills seems to have increased greatly - or maybe I've just gotten better at spotting them. Personally, I haven't had any negative experiences related to a drug-fueled ladyboy but I can see where it has the potential to turn things sour. I think that many will be surprised by just how many girls are on the juice, or whatever their drug of choice is. It is ALOT! There are some that have taken it to the point where even if they are riding high the effect it has on them, at least outwardly, is so small that even though I knew they were lit I couldn't tell.

I'll probably get some flak for this but I actually joined in on the activities one night with 5 other LBs. I'll write about it but leave names out to protect everyone. I'm sure someone will yap about this but its a good story about what NOT to do in LOS...

I had visited one of the LB bars on the first floor (left hand side corner).
My experience was really bad. It was my first ever visit to a LB bar. It was like a molestation!! I was surrounded by 10 or more LBs. despite my repeated request with folded hands (in Thai style), there was no respite. All of them wanted to have a drink. I offered a dringk to Mamasan and to 3 LBs. This infuriated the others and they started shouting at me.
I got scared and left the place immedaitely.
How to manage in such a situation? I request the experienced forum members to help us first / second timers.

The shit-pits are a fucking nightmare. I can't remember the last time I went into one now. It's a crap way to spend your valuable time in Thailand.

The best advice is to go in groups or at least with one other person and pay for each beer as you buy it.

No-one would ever go to these places for entertainment only. It is simply a place to choose your fuck for the night.

Do what i do  smile and be polite and  just keep saying "i'm only having a beer"  They leave me alone . but most of them know me and know i dont get intimidated. I guess its body language, they can spot a newbie  or virgin a mile of so they pounce like depraved cats,
To all newbys  just smile and say no untill they piss off. then sit  down have a beer and look at the girls dancing. you can usually tell what a girl is like  by watching how she interacts with customes around the place. just look and listen for a while then call one over.If you just want one thats great. if she offers her friends  just say no
Firm but polite. the last and only trouble i had was 2  years ago, my famous ash tray inncident in cascade. fucking screaming banchieeeeeee.
mamasans in my opinion area  waist of time.if you want a particular  type of  girl just ask any girl in the bar, you will get better information    than from a mamasan.(in my opinion)
It really is all about  body language if you walk in all, timid and shy they will be on you in a flash, where as  if you walk in all bruff and full of your self  they will accept your   firm NO  and leave you alone.
I actually dont like these bars  very much but i do go to them for  contact info and new  girls.
If i stay in a bar   i usually have  1or2  drinks max ,then im out of the joint.The prices are a scandle120 baht a beer or a soda water.  you can really run up a big bill  if you buy alot of drinks, and as a few members here know  im in and out in a flash. Again this  stuff is personaly preferance  .

I really can't understand why some forum members seem to have so much trouble in some of these LB bars.

You are either a "soft target" or you are rubbing the bar staff up the wrong way. I have hardly have any problems at any of them, bill padding, pick - pocketing, aggressive "sales staff", the LOS is as easy as it gets folks.

Its harder to go into some bars in my local town, i am far more worried about pick pockets & getting into some kind of incident in the UK than I am in the LOS, & I live in the UK!

Well said Donnnnny, but i have seen the girls go mad over some customers & not understood why. But Nick & Ning Nong once told me that an LB can spot a true LB "lover" a mile off, not sure i believe it, but there might be something in that.
