(Lefty @ Oct. 21 2008,03:04) I like the Scots because they have bagpipes, maybe the best instrument ever invented,
Wot & the Irish dont ?
I guess We dont have Tartan either
You guys play bagpipes too? Do you also wear kilts and those cool floppy hats?
I apologize for my mistake, if so, for thinking the bagpipes were only a Scottish thing.

much of Scottish Highland (Gaelic) culture came with Irish settlers into scotland - including language, tartan and pipes. Scotti was a term for a particular Irish tribe and up until 16th Century, many references to Scotland in continental european literature were actually about Ireland and not Scotland

In Ireland, they are known as Uilleann Pipes - uilleann means elbow in Irish because he bellows are worked with the elbow instead of blowing air into the pipes

and some members of the Irish group aren't really Irish
i agree, they claim to be Irish but even the German girls drink them under the table.

If ya' can't drink 20 day, your not irish.,.. LOL

Thank you kind sir. That is very interesting.
The common connecting of bagpipes primarily with Scotland is erroneous then. I wonder why The King of Ireland never told me that when we were out with the ladyboys.

When you sing Sgt McKenzie does it sound as cool as when the Scots sing it?

It's fine to connect them with Scotland - just remember we have them too

A lot of close ties between SCotland and Ireland - and their food is even more unhealthy than ours

Royal commitments dogging me at the moment, still havent put a date on the 2009 trip, but hope to overlap with you, looks like you will be there for a while?

Look forward to another rendition of whisky in the jar while 10 bewildered ladyboys try to make some sense of it. Would have made an incredible youtube.
