Geisha! NEW LB bar on Soi 3...

Alis and her boyfriend have opened a new LB bar on Soi 3 called Geisha. It's in at the back, second last bar in the New Star complex. This complex is about half way down Soi 3 on the right as you walk from Second road towards Beach road. Some of the old La Bamba crew are there, including Som, Nam, Chin and Ice.

Alis has always been a great host so if you are in the area why not drop by and give her some support in her new venture.

Yes - they were a good bunch and it doesn't sound as if it is exactly on the beaten path, so any publicity will be helpful.

I think that I will go to see them when I am there next week. Just to see how they are, you understand, not for any nefarious purpose.

This bar will need rotsa ruck. It is outdoors (= hot), has a Thai DJ who plays music for the whole complex (= sucks), located about 1/2 way between 2nd and Beach Rd on soi 3 (= inconvenient), no ST rooms (= inconvenient, given the selection available. Do you really want to take Ice LT? Would she really want to go?), has a staff of only 4 working girls, which includes the Nutter Chin (= poor selection) and is very public (= no hardcore playing, one of the saving graces of La Bamba).

Pluses = Alis (negated by BF presence) and, although public, not much public to actually see you, as there's virtually no foot traffic in that area.

When I was there, there were 2 farang customers besides me. I was with GF, another farang with GG, 1 farang alone. Virtually ZERO interaction from the girls, aside from Alis trying. The others were either playing pool at the next bar the whole time or, in Chin's case, standing, staring, looking menacingly disturbed.

Spot on my friend, this bar will be lucky to last six months at best and for all the reasons stated above. I would have thought Alis would have learnt a little about the Pattaya bar scene during her time at Club 131 and La Bamba ie choice of location, marketing the bar, quality of staff etc, alas it appears not.

What the hell happened to La Bamba anyway? When I was there (March 01-03) it had just been boarded up. Does anyone know why and if they will reopen at some point?

All very valid points Socrates, although you forgot to mention, Thai Boyfriend = the till getting plundered every night = no money to buy stocks, pay staff etc.

I think Titleists prediction of 6 months may be a little generous, although I hope for Alis's sake it does work out.
