OK, I will buy that  foxxee..... probably too harsh, but yes I have seen this type of activity play out for years and the madness never stops to amaze me. Guy falls in love; guy hands over everything including his heart and lots of cash; girl has many doing the same thing and first chance she gets [and once the money has been bled dry from victim A] she moves on to victim B and so on, down the line.

  To be honest I'm amazed it still happens these days, but it probably will for years to come so I better get used to it.

  Full disclosure; yes, I have been burned ONE time by a ladyboy, but the damage was minimal and nothing like these stories, only 40K baht.  My friend {?} Ponlien from Chiang Mai played on my heart strings once by telling me she was getting the cheapest possible post-op job {40K baht} from some intern at a BKK hospital, because it was all she could afford.  After talking to many other ladyboys about that deal they told me ''don't let her do it, her life will be ruined forever'  so I offered Pon 40K more to get a better post-op job.  She did,  never paid me back as promised, and trust me, nothing like that has or ever will happen again.

           The only other cash I have ever given LB's or any hooker besides that is for sexual services rendered; no gold, no expensive gifts, never any ''sponsorship'' to ANYONE and certainly no big cash, cars or houses! Anyone who can prove otherwise, I'd like to hear about it.

            Sorry, I have little sympathy for these kind of stories and have seen/heard them for years now. I know another ladyboy who took some guy for about 200K US who fell in love with her after just one week....she promptly dumped him after the 200K, found another guy from  Australia and took 200K MORE from him [plus got an Aussie passport after a farcical wedding], dumped him and now lives in London,working as a wealthy escort.   Of course I have many other stories I could share, but this message board has only so much space!!

Hi jaidee,

I have been scammed myself more than once as I am an optimist at heart, so I know you speak the truth.

I just feel the need to temper cynicism with a little optimism: there are some mighty fine ladyboys out there too.

Look there was one bit of advise given to me very early (10 years ago) as far as having relationships with Thais of all sexes, and I believe anyone intending to settle into a LTR should follow it:

Before you fall in love, meet the family.

Thais are incredibly family oriented, so if the family is tight and together still as a unit your girl is probably a good catch.

If mother and father are divorced, if mother is a serious gambler (beyond her means) and dad has taken off, if the LB in question has nothing to do with her parents and wont see them (the very worst case scenario, as ALL thais feel a huge burden of debt to thier mothers) then she most likely is a wrong 'un, shunned in her home villiage, without the stability and guidance of the family unit.

And a second bit of advice: (especially to the "chompoo" website author) ACCEPT that in the grand scheme of all things Thai, the order of importance (and debt) goes:
Mother
Younger Siblings
Older Siblings
Father
You.

And that is as it is, and if you dont like it dont go out with a Thai.

Lastly: If you live overseas forget falling in love. You are asking to be used. If you can't work it so you live in Thailand dont fall in love with a thai. Dont sponsor a girl to see her one month a year. Dont expect her to want to move to Manchester or Amsterdam or Sydey either. For the family reasons listed above.

Open your eyes punters, and remember not to let Hope triumph over Experience.
