I hate this place too. The pot of food is too much for two but teerak then orders way to much extra shit. Then I wind up using too much sauce and i'm stuffed and just want to go to sleep.

Think ladyboys like it cause they think they're cooking for us.

And they think malls are upscale while to me they're places people from New Jersey go to.

I'll take the MK tirade one more step...

No matter what you (they) order...it all tastes the same...which is tasteless...

                  The food is way overpriced...

But mostly it's fucking annoying to go to a restaurant and pay for overpriced food that you have to cook yourself...

I just flat out refuse to go into one any longer...

And the same holds true for those Korean places where you cook your food on some hot thing that looks
                  like a huge metal tit....

La Stroganoff Restaurant. Soi Yamoto - same soi as La Bamaba and Stringfellows.
3 Courses for 260 Baht - normally choise of 3 starters, 3 main course and 2 desserts or coffee.
                    Great value

Yamoto - Japanese Restaurant - Soi Yamoto - authentic Sushi/Japanese dishes

BBQ dining - 3rd Road (North of Klang/Central) - eat all you like BBQ for 110 baht per head

Indian - Beach Road/Soi 6.1 Haas Hut (something like that) - 20 meters up Soi 6.1 a you leave Beach Road.

For entertainment and open air dining Thai House. Walk from new mall (Avenue) along 2nd Road towards Marriott/Royal Garden Shopping Mall. Past Aloha on your left - next Soi on Left just past Italian restaurant. Thai floor show and reasonable Thai food and cocktails.

For a romantic setting try Cabbages and Condoms resort and the Sugar Hut - between Pattaya and Jomtien.

Leaving Pattaya towards Jomtien - Manhattan's Steak restaurant and Mata Hari - Indian

Yep... I agree, but I still go because they just love the place... and sometimes I make 'em go to places that they probably hate just as much as we hate MK!

Daidemon is similar but I prefer it because you can grill the stuff.

Chesters is simply revolting, although their fried fish is just about passable.

Black Canyon Coffee? Stick to the coffee although some of their snacks are OK in a pinch.

Hachiban (8)... Excellent - cheap, fast and tasty Asian grub. Highly recommended.

Thanks rossco... Good choices to think about there.

I'll try that Indian place next week, although if it works out well that'll be a first for me.

All Indian food in Pattaya has been shite so far...

(rossco @ Apr. 15 2008,20:57) the Sugar Hut - between Pattaya and Jomtien.
There are a few tables here where u can sit on floor cushions.

Probably the nicest place I've eaten in Pattaya.

Whilst mooching about one day I visited Carrefor(spelling ? sorry) not some where I would think of eating, up off the end of third rd. In the food court at ground level theres a hawker style eating place.
I had a large portion of chicken, rice mixed vegatables all cooked in front of me... superb flavors and amazingly only 20 baht.

                              Absolute bollocks!!

IMHO Korean food some of the nicest around.
BKK has some really nice restaurants, but i am yet to find anything passable in Pattaya.

And any decent place will cook the food for you at your table so you know its fresh - it should not be self service - ever.

Does anyone have any knowledge of why such an odd restaurant name exists?

I have also seen one down off Sukhumvit Rd in BKK.
