  • Hotels in Pattaya

I am surprised there aren't any threads dedicated to "good hotels". Sure there are snippets in trip reports and so on, but a search on "Pattaya hotel" yielded over 100 entries, none of which mentioned "hotel review" or similar in the title. Don't make me have to read though all those threads. Mostly they'll be trip reports with pictures - I'll be worn out before I'm a quarter way through .

[By the way: the main page has a hotel advert but clicking on it takes me straight to a LB porn site.]

So would anyone like to pitch in with recommendations:

I've stayed at Penthouse and it is OK for a couple of nights, but I need a bit of quiet; room with internet; LB friendly (of course); room safe; not far from where the action is. I'd expect to pay around 1000-1500 per night.

    Well that's sad.

There is a thread called Hotels Pattaya in Thailand Travel.

          Looks good.

I'd checked out the better looking places listed in Deepthroat's hugely useful list (Post #597 in Thailand Travel> Hotels in Pattaya.). We should try to update that list as a database!

Most are full over the New Year. I've ended up back at Penthouse where I got their last room.

          Happy Days.

I had a reservation and walked away from April Suites, the hotel is NOT finished.

Wait until its all done before considering it.

Try the Lincoln Guest House on 3rd Road. It is owned by the owner of Stringfellows so it is very Ladyboy friendly and there is a bar and restaurant on site. You can google the guest house or go to stringfellows website and get the site from there.

Pars Place is a place Daveduke mentioned before. They close all the doors at 11:00 pm but they give you a key to the back door to get to your room. You could bring a goat up there and nobody would know. Only 6 rooms, no elevator (lift) and they dont take credit cards. But the owner was a great guy. 900 bhat a night.

I'm a fan of the Nova Gold. It's not far from Soi 6, and the rooms have a PC with FREE internet access, room safe and a good bathroom. It has a reasonable pool, fitness centre and massage room. There's no restaurant, but you can eat (and get room service) in the nearby Jameson's pub with whom the hotel has an agreement. It's LB friendly and, as far as I know, they don't charge for short time guests (Om was a registered guest, so I didn't check this out). I forget how much I paid, but through Agoda it was certainly within your price range.

The pool at the Nova Gold is better than "reasonable" in my opinion. The time I visited it with you I thought the setting was as nice as any I have seen in Pattaya. So many pools are just a hole in the ground, this one had real atmosphere.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.
