If no one minds, I'd like to chip in my 2 cents on the Mosaik.
Stayed there for 2 weeks in Feb. and will be back from April 1 - 22.

After some initial problems with the reservation, things finally sorted out and I really liked it there. Ok, no pool and no gym, but the privacy is top - no lobby, no Hellos, no one telling yr girl that she is already no. so-and-so today or what yr type had been on the previous nights!

But in case you are not sure about the girl and want to leave her ID with someone, there is a security guard on duty 24/7 and he will take her ID, write down the name, etc. Slip him 20 Baht and you can be sure that he will look after you well.

The 1 bed room is 60 m2 and really spacious. You have a sofa and some arm chairs which make all the difference in a room. The bathroom is nice, just would need a bit better lighting over the mirror.

A DVD-player will be set up for u 4 free if u ask 4 it, so will be a microwave, I have heard.

I stayed at a 1 bed-room and a Studio Deluxe which I thought was a great deal - liked the orange coloured sheets as the 1-bed-room normally seems to come with white ones :-(

A well known BM here enjoyed coming over and lie on my couch for a while - during daytime that was!

The location is sensational and almost everything is just a stone-throw away.

Internet is extra - 300 per week or 1K per month but the speed is good and it has never been down.

Cleaning is 200 and there is a final cleaning charge of 300, you only find out when you get there ;-( but you can get individual towels changed for between 15 and 20 Baht.

If you stay a day longer as I did, they only charge you the prorated price, a 7th of the weekly rate which is pretty decent.

Of course there are much better deals for a month but there always is, and I still think that a sofa, 3 armchairs (1 in the bedroom), a coffeetable, a kitchen and some other amenities make it worth the price.

But try to stay in the main building as the one across the street does not have an elevator and you might find yourself and yr guests hiking up really steep stairs to floor 4.

Finally, I should probably say as others have done on other occasions - no problem if not too many decide to stay there as it might hike up the price or make it more difficult to get a reservation ... ;-(

I heard that the owner was German but left it in the hands of his Thai bf. The office is run quite efficiently and they seem to relax more with you when you become a repeat customer.

I think we all develop our preferences for places we have stayed - to me the M has become a home when away from home wherever that might be for the time being and yes, it is a bit pricey but it is a good deal after all ...

(azza33 @ Mar. 24 2010,20:23) Fook me if you got charged 5000 baht for 2 weeks elec & a bit of cleaning that would be a joke!!
That's only the deposit and is used towards electric and water but also in case you had room cleaning and internet, etc.

Electric is 5.5 per unit and as everyhwhere it will depend on yr usage. I think I paid about 700 for electric for 15 days and water was minimal.

They give you a bill and it's all detailed on there - of course one can start arguing about the bill and the figures, etc. but it was all credible.

I was checking out the Mosaik Apartments and the weekly rates and location seem to suit me. However I have some questions.
            1) Is it Guest Friendly?
            2) The weekly rates do not includes cleaning, water, or electric. Does any one know what a week of those items can amount to?
            3) Any other negatives about the place?

              No pool.

Across the soi from a   massage shop of that matters to you.

Many different room types including no elevator options in the annex, so be careful.

                Thank you.

I just found an earlier thread on the place and it does not sound all that appealing given the reports.

I have been emailing both August Suites and EverGreen trying to negotiate a price but the buggers do not negotiate AT ALL!!! No matter how polite, diplomatic, rational, or reasonable I present my position they still come back to me with their posted rates. Drive me nuts!!! They have not business sense even when I play them both off one another. In fact, sometime they will lose my 10 day booking over 100baht ($3.00) per night!!!

                Anyway...:-)

August Suites is quoting their rack rates? For what dates?

They probably don't give a rat's ass whether you stay there or not...

I suspect if you were standing in front of them it might make a difference...But you're only staying for 10 days...Not 2 months...

Remember, they might be replying to your email in English, but they are thinking in Thai...

...a very good monthly rate for my room (del one-bedroom)..you can see on my pic's realy well furnished....wlan..and the most important point for me is...there is no reception to pass, a private door for the guests, and nobody cares who and how many people stay with you............

..yes, no pool, gym and ABF................but i realy not miss this......

There's a lot of info in the Pattaya serviced apartments thread including (if memory serves me*) chinaman's detailed breakdown of charges plus my comments on the only negative I can think of apart from the lack of pool which is the hardness of the beds. Sleeping on the floor is a softer option!

                            * if it's not there, it's somewhere else on the forum. But there is definitely a cost breakdown.

(Steff @ Aug. 11 2010,04:21) 1) Is it Guest Friendly?
They really do not give a rat's ass who you bring or how many unless it might turn into a major disturbance.

I like the Mosaik and have stayed there already 3 times this year but it might not be for everybody.

You also have to be very careful which apartment they will assign to you.

My usual requirements are that it is in the main building as they other buildings have no elevator and you might find yourself and in particular your guest/s in 5" high heels climbing up 4 flights and those stairs are DAMN steep.
The other is that I get street view as courtyard view has prison charm.

I would recommend the 1 bedroom DeLuxe, or the Studio Prestige for the more budget conscious. First is about 6,400 in low season, latter about 5,100 per week + whatever utilities, internet, cleaning fees (also a final one).

There are def. cheaper option but like Juri, I love the privacy and not having to smile at and greet reception staff 5 times a day. Plus I like the sofa area which I would call the foreplay ground before moving to the real battlefield ;-) Of course you can start out in the bedroom and shoot your final scenes on the sofa as well - up2u :-) No one gives a rat's ass.

And, the area is really quiet during day and night time as most massage places and businesses shut at around 22.00. Furthermore the gay crowd seems to much less noisy than the GG-punters in other parts of SinCity ...
