Here I sit broken hearted, tried to shit but only farted. I am not worthy until I have at least 1,000 posts to my name on the LB Forum. -
(deepthroat @ Feb. 07 2010,00:51) TT, I was at the mall today and went to the juice stand....most gorgeous hot girl was.... Finally it came to me - she's the hottie in your avatar. What a cutie. I assume LB since she's your avatar but I couldn't tell.
And to reply to Easy about PBR: Fairly sure it doesn't have wired internet.TTComment

I've booked at Areca for April...previously stayed at Secrets and Dynasty. A little nervous about taking a LB back.
Other reports suggest that they are moving more towards targeting families.
What are the closest LB bars to there?Comment

Not a problem for taking a LB back there , the staff are extremely nice and friendly .
Nearest LB bar is the New Orn right next door
I believe Pook Swan Bar is nearby too.
Cheers.Comment

You may want to check if there is a charge for more than 1 guest at a time - if you are so inclined. Some hotels will charge for guests over one additional.

(kevin4252 @ Feb. 04 2010,02:34) I've stayed at the PBR on both my prior trips, this time wanted to stay around the Soi Bukahow area, had heart set on Areca lodge, but the Credit Card b.s., mail them a photo of it, give them my security code, direct to hotel now, was the turn off, so, reservation made at the LK Renaissance, they have a sale on too, BKK prices originally, now a bit more palatable, still high for Pattaya I guess. You men eat your dinner, eat your pork and beans
I eat more chicken, than any man ever seen, yeah, yeahComment

Thought I'd try bumping this thread, I'm considering doing a new poll with additional hotels on it (like August Suites). Any additional hotels you'd like included in a new/revised poll on "best hotel for mongerers in Pattaya"??Making newbie mistakes since 2009 so you don't have to

Depends on what BMs are looking for DT...I stay long time so I ain't looking
for a room that costs 1000+ baht a night...
I stay in a place called the Renu House at the corner of Soi VC/17 and 3rd Road...
It's new...The rooms are not big but have a king size bed, in-room safe, wifi and
great aircon...They don't care what you bring in or for how long...The office closes
about 9 pm so up to you...The cost is 8000 baht a month...Not including utilities and
cleaning...The utilities run about 1200 baht a month and cleaning is 100 bht whenever
you need or want it...
For me a great location...About a 5 minute walk to TukCom (where I can get a baht
bus to everywhere)...10 minutes to Sunee...And 15 to Walking Street/Ezy Bar...
It's convenient and quiet and cheap...
There are two buildings...A and B...owned by the same folks but managed by different folks...
Only in Thailand..."It's not Gay if you beat them up afterwards." --- AnonComment

Well, this maybe be a surprise to a few members, I have stayed at Shagwell!! Reception always very friendly. Always very clean. Rooms are OK and they have some Studio type rooms that are above the restaurant on the pool side of the road. The pool is quite small but, OK for a quick cool down. They have a nice little bar called Darcey's. This has a kind of Sports Theme and they have a pair of Sir Donald Cricket Pads and a Cricket Bat signed by the great man himself. For those that don't know this is an Aussie Hotel with, what seemed to me, an even mixture of Aussie and English guests. Its located in Soi Arunothai. This is the Soi opposite Carrefour about 60% up Pattaya Klang towards Sukumvit Road. Its a bit out of the way. To get to Walking Street you will need a taxi. Back then the Motor Cycle Taxi cost me 40 Baht.
Ish(by myself - any others?)

So it seems to be breaking down to 3 categories of punters here:
1-Short stay at a place that feels one is on a real holiday
2-Short stay at a place that has less amenities but is easy on a wallet & nice enough
3-Longer (more that 3 weeks) stay at a good value serviced apartment type set up
Many times I will start off with 2-3 days at a 4* hotel to get over jet lag & reward myself for the previous few dark & cold months furiously laboring on my hamster wheel & then head over to more modest digs for the remainder.Comment
