Welkom Inn is half the size it used to be, most of the best rooms have been torn down, no longer has a pool, and can no longer be recommended.
I stayed there my first three trips and have some fond memories though.
Kingfisher is a budget place that I've also stayed at many times but a little bit out of the way, and not really a place I would recommend to most of you unless you specifically want to be in the Sunee area.
I'm extremely impressed with August Suites and in many ways it's better than the LK Rennaisance. The LK appears more majestic but the August Suites rooms are just as nice and much quieter. Their rates are highly negotiable so you should never pay the rack rate of 3000 a night. It's the place I now recommend to my high end friends.
PBR's high season rate is no longer a bargain. Their previous low season rate of 999 a night with the 7th night free and no extra charge for VAT was a great bargain, effectively half of this year's high season rate. But for about the same price you can get the August Suites if you're good at negotiating a deal.
