Ma Maison has mirrored ceilings in their rooms.

Soi 13 (same as Dynasty Hotel)

Crazy thread "Best Hotel In Pattaya"

Probably the correct answer is Dusit Thani BUT not LB/Guest friendly. Fantastic resort.
    Others:

    Hard Rock
    Birds & Bees - halfway Pattaya/Jomtien
    Sugar Hut

When you say best you must 'qualify' what you mean.
Hotels can range from 500 Baht to 5000 baht per night. Up to You!

What about guest house style rooms ?
not everyone books hotels so maybe a new list or 2 lists would be good for lads new to pattaya like myself.

Royal Clif/Wing.... Ex love it.... but only one night...
For me was the Hard Rock first choise... no problems with LB's and you could meet many Russians and Japanese girls for a freebie.....
Soi 2 Sundalay also a good choice when you take a suites...

        Dieter

        P.S.:Hard Rock really rocks...

(manarak @ Jan. 13 2010,00:25) Is Penthouse Hotel the naughtiest in Pattaya?

For my next vacation I want maxx naughtyness, LOL.

Seriously considering booking a mirror room!
No tried that many places that have been mentioned here but, The Penthouse, for me is really the naughtiest of naughty. Very LB friendly and, as somebody else mentioned, the LBs do seem to have the run of the place. The 'Extremely' fine manager bent over backwards to help me. If you ask him, he will probably do the same for you!! Go for a tour with him and see if you can find an "moldy" towels. I did the tour. I looked very hard but, sadly, could only find fresh smelling and wonderfully clean big towels. Same applies to the sheets. One room, that I shall next time, is on the second floor. This room has a fountain running down into a large Jacuzzi Whirlpool Tub. I have not seen anything like this before. Not just a little fountain. Its the same height as the room. Amazing piece of architecture.

I've stayed at the PBR on both my prior trips, this time wanted to stay around the Soi Bukahow area, had heart set on Areca lodge, but the Credit Card b.s., mail them a photo of it, give them my security code, direct to hotel now, was the turn off, so, reservation made at the LK Renaissance, they have a sale on too, BKK prices originally, now a bit more palatable, still high for Pattaya I guess.
Life is short. Live it well.

Maison has mirrors in the more expensive rooms (about 200b more), standard rooms do not have them.

                  (PigDogg @ Jan. 04 2010,17:01) August Suites
...there is no joiner fee for your first guest   However, if you bring two girls back at the same time then the second girl is going to cost you 500 baht.

This is the hotel I recommend for my high end friends.  Probably the best deal you're goiong to be able to negotiate in high season is 1550 a night but that does not include breakfast.
I want to qualify as one of PigDogg's high end friends    .. so I'm staying at August Suites for the first time this week!

First impressions very good - not quite as 'luxurious' as LK Renaissance, but the walk-in shower is superb ... with a turbo charged spray.  I like the location, the staff are keen to please, and the free wifi has a good signal. I dont anticipate spending the extra 500 baht any time this trip

Rack rate 3000, but like the LK they will do a deal. Without breakfast I'm paying 1700 baht a night, which they said they would reduce a bit more - if I stayed a week +.   Last month I was paying 2250 at the LK Renaissance for a Studio, when they started playing hard ball on the discount in peak season.

The other reason I moved is that LK reception were arsey (ie 'refused' point blank) about me having an extra towel one day ...... although they didn't charge me for my first threesome!

I will report back if any more opinions, but likely to be using this hotel in future (despite the lack of ceiling mirrors!).

If they have a suggestion box, ask for a ceiling mirror

                                 ya wally...

You can always go to the Penthouse for mirrors all round, including the ceiling.

They have a promotional rate going now on all their rooms, if you can get one that is, I believe they are full right now.
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

I'm currently re-thinking my positive vote for the Pattaya Bay Resort. Having stayed here in the Presidential Suite twice, I've got the following complaints about the place:

                          1. Crap furnishings. If you have a "Presidential Suite" in a large beautiful room, spend more than $1.25 on the damn stools, and put in a REAL kitchen table instead of the crap little table that serves for dining.

                          2. Crap computer. I rented the room primarily because it comes with it's own computer and printer with high speed internet. Last year it was sufficient but this year it's so slow I'm actually considering renting computer access when I'm out and about to pick up emails. It can take minutes to open a page. Manager Kim says that my request to download Google Picasa (free photo management software like Photoshop Tools) was so large it filled the memory. If that's the case, they either need to buy a new computer or spend $150 on a larger hard drive! This is ridiculous.

                          3. The shower is crap (fancy shower head that doesn't give enough pressure) and there's no tub. I can live with the shower, it's decent enough overall, but the lack of a tub in a high end room? The Majestic Grande in Bangkok has bathrooms in their deluxe rooms that have both a huge jacuzzi tub AND a shower that puts this to shame... and the room is equally large but much more nicely appointed.

It's just really strange, it's obvious that whomever designed the room did a nice job, but the appointments and furnishings were done to cut costs which makes no sense if you're trying to give the impression of luxury.

I love the staff, like the hotel, but I would never book the Presidential Suite again unless they make some serious investment in ugrading the furnishings.

Even in the early days I felt that the fixtures and fittings in those PBR rooms were very much to a budget as opposed to a specifiaction....factor in to that how popular the place is with damn near 90% occupancy and you soon end up with tired and worn out rooms.
Not quite the Nana Hotel but heading that way unless a total refurb in the nex couple of years is carried out.

The new Areca Hotel (nearly opposite) looks a nice alternative.

Not unfair to compare the Presidential Suite at PBR with Majestic Grande, but the two hotels are in a different league (presumably the fittings in all rooms at PBR are of similar quality)

Internet provision (with good speed) is a basic requirement for me now.  I remember Dynasty Grande in BKK having to upgrade their server (twice) when the place became very popular.  Seems the same is true at PBR.

LK Renaissance has wifi now, but I couldn't get much of a signal on the 6th floor there (so they suggested I plug into the wired system, which was OK).

I'm rebooking my next Pattaya trip at August Suites (see my earlier comments) - where the shower is awesome (no tub) and the free wifi (on floor #6) works just fine.

TT, I was at the mall today and went to the juice stand to see if Icey was there again, and she wasn't but the most gorgeous hot girl was.... I stood there for a minute glancing slyly at her trying to figure out where I new her from. Finally it came to me - she's the hottie in your avatar. What a cutie. I assume LB since she's your avatar but I couldn't tell.
