Yes its absolutely disgusting!    Even after about 20 SMB I couldn't manage to keep it down. Had to give up on that one.  

By the way i reckon the grasshoppers taste like Mcdonalds french fries if you don't much the head in the same bite!

Yeah I`ve just got back from my first trip to LOS.Didn`t want to cut corners at all and basically went to have a ball and not think about money.I phoned the travel company up and just told them to arrange everything for me so here`s how it broke up...
Flights from Manchester /Bangkok
2 nights in the Landmark bangkok
13 nights in the Hard rock Pattaya
All taxis n transfers

£ 1,250

Spending money , food , drink, girls , joining fees ( rip off by the way 11,000 bt...never again)

£1,400 for the duration without being tight

£2650 to live the dream

...and , as expected , couldnt wait until next year as im hooked first trip...booked again for november , but a bit more wise this trip

flipper lodge Pattaya = 1,200 bt per night.....no joining fees

Yeah I`ll sort a trip report out for u guys soon.Not a lot to report on the LB front as I`m more into the gogo girls but still a couple of funny LB stories and one fucking scary story on my 4th night with a Jennys star bar psycho that had me looking for a flight home next day...........

Great thread. I ran through my budget numbers yesterday and was surprised to see the total (ouch!). But like others have said... go big or go home.

Here are my numbers in baht for 9 nights:

4 nights Bangkok at DIG = 9,120
5 nights Pattaya at Sunshine Residence (Deluxe Seaview) = 8,500
R/T SFO to BKK = 41,085
"all other expenses" = 60,000

Total 9 nights = 118,705 ($3,597 US) = 11,870 baht per day ($359.7 US)

I'm hoping that the final "all other expenses" number comes in 10% lower. Next time I'll try and stay longer in order to reduce the average cost per day; but I'll take what I can get this time around. Could have easily spent 6,600 to 9,900 less baht on the flight but I paid a premium for the quickest and most convenient.

I'm budgeting $3000 for 12 days not including hotel and airfare. Should be enough.
