I think that the PI will be riskier, but as you say - you have some contacts out there so you may be OK.

A poster mentioned 10 years in Jail for sex with a 16 year old... If you do get free sex with a 16 year old you are NOT breaking the law. But I wouldn't recommend it. The age of consent here is 15 and has been for a while now. BUT - if you pay for sex then the girl or lb has to be at least 18.

Someone who answered your post said that you would do 10 years if you had sex with a 16 year old girl. The information is inacurate so I corrected it. The comment wasn't specifically aimed at you, but rather to anyone who might be getting wrong information about what the law is, here in the Kingdom.

I haven't been to the PI so I can't really comment with authority on why it would be riskier. It's really just an educated guess that it would be riskier.

Just to clarify what I said in relation to Stogies comments about age.

Stogie is correct, technically and in law - however, IF you managed to get into a 16 year olds knickers, assuming she is the age group looking for a 21 year old guy, as someone on their first trip to Thailand you are at a huge disadvantage and risk of being set up big time. The warning is simple, play with ANYONE under 18 at your own risk, but at least be aware of the risk. If she was a hooker but then your set up and she claims she is not, you are in a lot of trouble however as with many things in Thailand, this can be sorted out with substantial and I mean substantial payment to the local police in on the sting.

Thats assuming a sting operation is taking place - just this week in Pattaya a French guy has been arrested for having sex with a 13 year old girl whom he picked up on Beach Road - Now this guy was dropped in it by the security guard in his apartment - Not a sting operation just a concerned citizen calling the police - this has gone into the charge book at the police station and there is little opportunity for this guy to avoid a custodial prison term.

Now as a newbie to Thailand, do you really think you can easily tell a 13 year old from a 16 year old from an 18 year old? To put it into perspective, I struggle to tell the difference on occasions and you have to be pretty clued up to understand a Thai ID card and the Thai date of birth shown on it.

I've been away too much. Well, let me wade in here and try to make some sense out of all this. BTW, Stogie has done a great job so far.

Edooo20 - Look mate, here's the deal. I want you to print out this whole thread and keep it. You will look back at it when you are 30 and realize what an arrogant ass you were at 21.

For all newbies, which frankly still includes me, I recommend reading about 100-500 random posts throughout the whole board. You'll start to get an idea of the general tone and sense of humor on this board.

You are picking fights with people like Vangough who are longstanding members and contributors. To you, he seems like the one who stands out, but everyone else here sees him as one of the team, and you are the young jerk who has come in and pissed everyone off.

A lot of these guys have been going to not only Thailand, but the Phillipines, Brazil, and plenty of other countries for this hobby- and longer than you've been on this planet.

Yes-you may pick up one or two girls and get "free" sex while in LOS. But frankly you don't have any idea where to go to do it. You will be lost and confused, and you've already pissed in the face of the people who have the map and the information.

Some of them have even given you great information and helped you and I bet you looked right past it.

Before you respond to this thread again, spend two whole days reading back threads in all the forums here. Learn a little by osmosis first, get to know some of the players and learn who knows what they are talking about.
