Latest thread that seems to be emerging in many of the stories is the intimation that some of the dead (an Italian journalist and 2 relief workers) may have been killed by Red Shirts in an attempt to frame the military and turn worldwide public opinion in their favor. Got to do an airport run this evening to pick up a mate and his GGfriend arriving from Aus at 2300 hours.

The curfew starts at 9:00 pm, if you get to the airport by that time, you can wait there to pick them up. Make sure they keep their boarding passes and passports ready to show police. Anyone traveling to or from airport are allowed to move during the curfew hours if they have proof.

While not totally on topic - here's an interesting Youtube video that shows a segment where Arisman, one of the Red Shirt leaders announcing a list of targets for arson if the military were to close the main site. While not the main point of this video - it seems to show that the arson was all preplanned.

stupid question perhaps, but; if you were landing at BKK airport tonight at 11pm or so, how would you get to your hotel or your home if there is a curfew? with all the stores and shit closed after 9pm, how are you getting milk and water and other essentials, store up in the daytime only??Even a broken clock is right twice a day.Comment
