      "If the shoe fits...."

No, seriously - if I offended I'm really sorry, I cannot tell if you were smiling when you said that. If my teasing was found offensive I sincerely apologize, didn't mean for it to be.

With that said, the Guess Bar is just up the street from Nana Plaza (further down the street AWAY from Sukhumvit) on your right hand side in the parking lot for the Raja Hotel.

      Hope that helps.

P.S. - do not order the green eggs and ham, you will not like them Sam-I-Am.

Wait & watch. That's all we can do now. It does seem calmer but this is Thailand so we have to be patient.

You still have 6 days before departure & it should be clear well before then what is happening.

And if the worst thing happened while you were flying to Bangkok, I would expect your flight to divert.

It is one of the few chances left in your life to have a real adventure so now isn't the time to be wimping it.

This is something you can dine out on when you return home. "Yes, I was in LOS in the middle of the great coup of 2010"

"Oh Reflections" the girls are bound to say, "you are so brave"  *Swoon* "Take me to bed NOW!!!"
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

                hey Pacman
                good advise as always
Believe me though I always want my trips to be "low key" and "no drama"
                and no problems

Just go and be done with it. Stop worrying and be bold.

Go to your government's webpage and look for "Travel Alerts". Read what they say and take heed. They will not tell you to cancel your travel but will advise you areas to avoid, conduct, what to do in the event off...,et cetera. Make sure you file and notify your country's Embassy of you entrance and departure dates. Keep a low profile, avoid political gathering, government buildings, et cetera.

I have my trip planned for mid May and it will take a cataclysmic event and a team of wild horses to keep me away.

                        TSm,

TT told me he intends to be back in BKK on May 12 depending on the political situation at the time.

I will go to Pattaya on May 12. I depart LOS on May 23 and have no idea if I will get to BKK or not in between those dates. Maybe, but it hinges on what unfolds in Pattaya. If you want you can give me your BKK coordinates in a PM and I will connect with you if I get there. I can also give you mine in Pattaya if you are interested and think you might eventually end up there for a few days.

By the way. I love your avatar and am curious where it is from. It looks like this is happening in a public library, book or video store. Do you know it origins? It is terrific!!!hahahahha

(Snick @ Apr. 13 2010,10:28) Thats not a sniper rifle.
Could not have been an AK47, or the Thai Army's M-16

From what I am reading the 8 were killed by shots from an elevated position, many with head shots, one shot per target, also the firing appears to have been rapid (i.e. not a single shot rifle).
That requires a lot of training, not regular Thai army kind of stuff.
I have my suspicions about who could be behind it, but nothing I want to say in a public forum.

Sae Daeng and his Taharn Phran buddies.

The Taharn Phran use AK47 and other weapons they have captured from the Khmer and drug barons.

                              Wonder what'll happen now.

Maybe I sound insensitive but its not the case at all. I do care!  But if I had to live my whole life based on how everyone might be sensitive to me.. I would not be living my life as I want it. So you can accept me and my flaws as I am or you can't.
