Please excuse my ignorance. I am new to Pattaya. But where exactly is Soi Buakow? And where is Derik Motors on Soi Buakow?

    Many thanks.

Soi Buakow is one of the principal Roads in Pattaya. It runs between and parallel to 2nd Road and 3rd Road - almost anyone could give you directions. It has Lots of bars, restaurants and several gogo's. A large market is held there on several days a week.
Direk Motors is a motor bike hire shop about 200 yards from the junction with Soi Diana Inn (Another major road) going south towards the market.

(stogie bear @ Aug. 29 2008,13:15) I have a license from Mexico (don't ask, but bribery was involved!) and that has never failed me!
Holy fuck dude, I hope we can have a beer one of these days. I'd love to hear the story behind that one. Oaxaca, WTF?
        Cheers,

I dont understand why you need to rent one when they (the taxi bike drivers) only charge you 40 or 50 Baht to go someplace

Try MaiTai rentals on Soi Buakow mobile phone 086-335-8009. Rudy is the owner. I have been renting from him for about 2 years and his prices are fair and the MC's have been good. They will come pick you up at your hotel for the intial rental, at least hey did for me. He has been honest with me unlike some of the other operators I have dealt with. They will go over the MC with you before rental lookingfor scratches. Depending on the season 3000 to 4000b per month or an Air Blade or Neuvo. An International Driver's License is best , no problem when the police stop you. It gives you a lot of freedom to see the city and get around. There is parking close to Walking St. for 20b at night but I don't know how to give you directions, it's next to the Secrets Bar.

My advice is to not rent a MC if you are not an experienced rider. It's dangerous enough even if you are. DO NOT ride on Sukhimvit Hwy. at night, it's just not worth it.
