For comparison from SFO, my flights have generally run about $900 to $1,200 with taxes. Granted, I usually flight out Friday night and return on the weekend, thus generally having the most expensive fares due to timing, but I find your assessment about ticket prices is correct. Travel is up, fuel prices are up, etc... so the airlines are being aggresive on international flights, which is the one area of their business that they can make great margins. Also, as it seems you are traveling during summer and on peak season, be prepared to pay higher costs.I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!

Honestly, I think you just have to suck it up and pay the price. I'd suggest trying to get free tickets through promotions, credit card, airline partners, etc. but even the free seats are hard to come by. The availability is very limited and you often need to book out far in advance. The best way to manage airfares is to go during off-season times and be willing to fly out at weird times. I know for me, if I were able to leave mid-week I could save myself $200 a trip.I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!
