Been searching for the past month for a good deal to BKK from NYC Area and have found nothing at all in the cheap fare realm. Current market conditions seem to be making cheap airfare very rare
Seems it will cost alot more than last year
Any Idea on where to fly from to make a RT fare cheaper?
Or when to fly or which airline to fly?
Is it cheaper to fly in June, July or August or another time of the year?
I would like to make a trip or two or three but that all depends on the prices.............any help at all would be great. Thanks ahead of timeYou Live and You Learn -- Hopefully!

September through March is the cheapest. I got some really good prices from these two websites in the past, www.asaptickets.com and www.justfares.com .
But right now I was able to get from www.Cathaypacific.com round trip JFK-BKK on september 19th and returning on October2nd . for $867.00USD total.

Search for Best Travel Store and go to their website. That is where I got my ticket from and it was the cheapest I could find. And yes, prices seem to be staying up. I have checked for December and it's still in the same range as now. When you add the price to get to say the west coast to take a cheaper flight it ends up costing you the same or more. So you might as well just do the best you can from where you are.

Just paid $980 on EVA from SF...In January I paid $780 for the same flight...I have discovered the prices do vary depending on the day of the week and the time of the day that you fly...I prefer the red-eye...a bit more expensive, but easier on my old body...and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday you can sometimes find the cost is lower..."It's not Gay if you beat them up afterwards." --- Anon

Its true that those websites do make you call in to book. But I have booked through them before and I can asure you that they are totaly 100% legit.
Anyway, like I said Cathay has some really great prices now, and you can book the whole thing through the website , you never have to talk to anyone.
