All my flights have gone up due to the new tax that kicked in . A Eva air Elite class is £150 more expensive than last year
They use the excuse to tax us down to the carbon footprint that has to be cleaned up.... bollocks...
The extra money will be flushed down the drain on social security payments to shirkers that should be sterilised at birth.

PS..
I payed £490+cc EVA Air ...
Must admit that price looks good, I'm looking at £630 plus with Thai, but I have so many airmiles & upgrades in the "bank" basically that will get me business class.

No No! It's a green tax!
It's to pay for all those green uniforms - green tanks - green armoured cars - green radios - green guns - etc. that went to Iraq to remove the threat of weapons of mass destruction.
Or maybe it's to pay to look for the weapons of mass destruction - are they painted green?
£397 to LOS and back - that is a good price - bet it only applies to a few seats on the plane.

Not so up to date with ex-UK flight prices, but I would have thought it would be cost effective for business class at least to route over somewhere like Helsinki (Finnair) Copenhagen (SAS) or Lufthansa (FRA/MUC) - that way at least you should (in theory at least) only pay the European level of departure tax from the UK. Could equate to over 100 pound saving in tax alone. Finnair and SAS used to have some very cheap fares from the UK and they both fly from MAN for you Northern folk. Incidentally Finnair is the shortest or one of the shortest routings from Europe to Bangkok - I did it a couple of times and actually flying time was about 9 hours. Flight timings are perfect for sleeping as well both ways.
Wow thats so cheap. Airfares relative to earning power are now so low priced - presume UK average salary is what about 25k per annum so basically 2 weeks gross pay for a business class ticket on a 6000 mile journey. When I lived in the UK, the ratio was something like 8 weeks average salary. Not much of a consolation for those actually paying it out but still amazing to see how much lower its become.

I find that hard to believe you can get from the to in 9 hours flying time but
Being of Northern Folk myself, the shortest time available to me now to get from the to would be with KLM
Getting the bus right outside my pub, 20 minutes to Manchester Airport
Check in 2 hours before flight
then a 1 hour flight to Amsterdam
1 hour at Schipoll before a
10hrs 30mins flight Amsterdam to Bangkok
