The top girl in the pink blouse is certainly beautiful but the rest just look like they are in the contest because of lighter skin and overdone plastic surgery. I can immediately think of 8 girls on this site that are hotter than every girl I have seen so far.

I remember seeing the 2006 winner up close.  Herself is way more beautiful  -  I'm not just saying that she really is.
I'm still trying to work out how she won as the number 2 was better looking, spoke better English and moved better  

As several have commented above this contest is pretty much a foregone conclusion before it even starts.

I agree that Tiffanys and Alcazar girls are not always the PRETTIEST of ALL the existing LBs because simply the ones who take the chance to go there for the competition are the ones who have decided to present themselves to the competition. This is the same with any beauty contest... i.e. the girls who feel pretty and comfortable to present themselves each year for the competition, they take the risk to spend their money or the money of their sponsors and try for it... (in my case I sponsor my GF, Ex because it is her life dream to present herself to Tiffany's competition). As they say NO PAIN NO GAIN....

I also agree that some years the girls chosen as miss Tiffanys or Miss Alcazars are not as pretty as the rest of the LBs in the competition but this is NORMAL since as I have mentioned before Miss Tiffanys competition is fixed and I already know that my GF is not going to win the competition this year unless I spend a lot of money (tooo late to do so, not enough money in my bank account, can spend the money in a more constructive way).... Ex my GF knows it too that the competition is fixed. She has read it in the www.thaimiss.com that they know already who is going to be this years miss tiffanys but she still wanted to have the experience to be chosen among 100 girls, trained by miss tiffany's personnel on how to walk, talk and dress and be there on the Scene of miss tiffanys and on the public TV. I think there is nothing more exciting for anyone of the girls to be able to demonstrate the rest of the world that she is there, she was chosen in the preliminary selection and she can successfully manage the training session of miss tiffanys (nothing easy...wake up call 6 o'clock daily to be ready for the 7 o'clock session in the theater) in order to be there the BIG day to be seen on the public TV and who knows where else in the world. Even my that i am 1000% man I also dream to become famous even if it lasts ONE NIGHT ONLY

Finally, the contest should be seen as a contest or a movie or let's say entertainment. It should not be taken much more serious than that. The girls will only get personal pleasure and pride out of it... The prizes are ridiculously low and the fame of miss tiffany will not last for more than a couple of weeks. Does anyone of you remember, for example, miss tiffany 1999 or 1997? I do not even know her. I have not bothered to look at the old miss tiffanys girls. The fame in some cases is even negative for them since they may not be able to get good jobs after the competition.

Anyway, let's see this year competition. I will be there on the VIP session...

Are all the girls that compete in these types of pageants all post-ops. This is just an impression that I have. Is this a requirement or just the way the dices roll?

No. Completely wrong. I don't know about %, but the 2 I sponsored were pre-op. Why would you have such an idea? Beauty is not equal to post-op.

Answering to your questions most of them (majority) they are not Post-op. I was there last Monday and I could say 80% of them were pre-op based on their physical appearance. Some of them very good looking for not saying amazing some other as ugly as me and you guys

Anyway, last years miss Tiffanys (kaitong) is AMAZING. I got to know her there in Tiffanys and I can tell you she really worth her title... pretty, cute, feminine 1000%... etc

Hi everyone, I have been unable to verify if the webcast of the contest by ITV will happen, but I would suggest for those not in Thailand who want to watch - go to the website in my earlier post (see the above quote), enable popups on your browser, and tune in around 10 pm Thai time, May 11. Give it around 15 min or so to start, l watched the Miss Alcazar 2006 webcast last year and it started late.

It would figure that the website lags the live TV broadcast.
I guess they would have to encode it before putting it on the net which would take even very fast computers a few minutes.
