Miss Tiffany Universe 2007

For those of you who may be interested, Miss Tiffany Universe will be held on May 11, 2007 in the Tiffany Theatre in Pattaya.

The show will also be broadcast on ITV Channel 7 (at least that is what I can make out on the website) from 10 pm - 00:30 on May 11/07. Not sure if there will be an internet broadcast considering the restructuring of ITV channel 7 by the government.

The is the 10th anniversary of the Miss Tiffany Universe contest, so I am sure there it will be a bigger than usual production.

Here is the link for the website - they are changing the car prize this year from a Toyota to a Mercedes "A" class.

Just one piece of advice.

The show itself is average in my opinion and always seems to be fixed.

However, one thing that is fun, is the crowd pre-show who go upstairs and get photographed. There are usually some very famous LBs and women (actresses), and that is most certainly interesting. Last show I went a LB actress was there, looking stunning, with a very good-looking man. Every single camera in the place only focussed on her for about an hour.

This is maybe 1 hr before the show and during the break.

Unfortunately Ziggy is probably correct, the outcome may be predetermined, and certainly has been with Miss International Queen 2005 and 2006.

Despite that, this year's contest is the 10th anniversary, so it should be bigger than usual.

There is a rumour that the following lb has a "lock" on the title - Miss Tawanna 2006. Here is her pic and we will find out soon if this is a true. Her name is "Film"

Guys and Dolls,

I have spent last Monday (the 7th of May) at Miss TIffany's Premises where the preliminary selection of the girls took place. There were presented about 100 girls form which only 30 of them chosen to go throught the training for the Miss TIffanys Beauty Contest Competition 2007.

Miss TIffanys, as a world wide known company, would never allow any kind of LB to take place to the competition but only the very good looking and best of them. Answering to your question and thoughts, YES it is a FIXED competition (at least that is what many Thai Web sites say, www.thaimiss.com).

However, whether or not the whole beauty contest is fixed, it does not make any difference to us, the Farangs (unless you are in my case and your GF is between these 30 ones to run and represent miss Tiffany's 2007) since it does not take away any "glitter", "brightness" or SHOW from this unique beauty contest. People in many countries will still watch the "late night" re-trasmit to their TVs since Tiffany's Beauty Contest has latelly became one of the most expected shows both to "laugh" and to amuse together with miss USA and Miss World.

by the way and furthmore to the commnet above, being there last Monday, I have met last years Miss Tiffany's queen called Kaitong, the girl in the photo above... I can only say that she worth her title. I can give you a whole detailed description of her but I would rather not waste your time...

Hope this year queen to be at least as good as last years

Do you know which, if any we might know from the bars made it? They sometimes do pretty well. For instance, Pay (her Thai nickname) from Obsession made top 10 at the contest a year or two ago.

Actually Miss International Queen and Miss Alcazar have had internet and/or sms voting in the past as part of the Miss Popular award.

So far it does not appear that Miss Tiffany Universe is going to include this as part of the contest.

To watch the contest - the one possibility may be to catch on it on the ITV channel 7 internet webcast. This is not certain to happen because of the recent restructuring of ITV by the government, but check this website on May 11, 10 pm Thai time to see if the broadcast is on.

Diablo80 thanks very much for your report - it must have been quite the sight with over 100 gorgeous lbs trying out for the contest!

I am not sure if your gf is among them, or if you were there on other business.

Actually the photo in post 3 above, is of Film, Miss Tawanna 2006, who is rumored to have a "lock" on the Miss Tiffany 2007 title. We will find out soon if that is true.

If you are at Royal Garden Plaza Shopping Center on May 9, 2007 at 3:30 pm, the Ripley's Most Beautiful Wo-Man will be held on the Ground Floor as part of the preliminaries of the Miss Tiffany Universe Contest.

I don't agree completely on some comments.

The people who try for Miss Tiffany's are not the most beautiful. They are only the ones who desire it so much they are willing to spend every penny they have or have a sponsor. That does not equal "most beautiful".

In my humble opinion, Miss Tiffany and Miss Alcazar are not the best representatives of LB beauty. That being said, it is of course natural that in that grouping there are some outstanding ladies (but even better ladies who don't try).

Remmember, going all the way in Miss Tiffany's is about 15-20K baht, something the vast, vast majority of LBs don't have, and very few sponsors willing to give that amount of cash.

Ziggy, thanks for some additional insights! I think for those who live in Thailand you have more opportunities to meet these wonderful ladies.

While the contestants in these contests may not be the most beautiful lbs, certainly they are lovely. It has been commented in the past that Miss Tiffany and Miss Alcazar winners have been more beautiful than Miss Thailand.

Your point about the cost to enter is well taken. It is true that unless they are sponsored, have good savings, or decide to spend what they have to enter, restricts many from the competition. I have sponsored a friend to compete in Miss Tiffany and another friend to compete in Miss Alcazar. Both said they enjoyed the competition and had fun, even though they did not make the final 10.

I've sponsored twice, with no regrets. The girls really love all this stuff, and their happiness is return enough on the investment.
