I found the music excellent (Karl has several different mixes that he uses: rock, house?, etc.), all the girls, bar one, pleasant and playful, well laid out bar with comfortable furnishings, good air con and fans, clean toilet, back door to soi 6/1, nice dance videos playing on the monitors, good lighting. e mentioned that he will be employing directly 14 or 18 girls, I can't remember which and expects a fair number of freelancers to be on/off premises. I didn't see the short-time rooms. For the life of me, can't remember the drink prices!

He basically has all of the right elements for the physical plant. Now, just work out the customer service bugs!

My vote: thumbs-up, with one strike.

Still want to see Karl's direct response.

(koykaeng @ Jun. 19 2007,07:16) Aside from Ozzie's incident & the manner it was handled, what did the "magnificent seven" think of this venue and staff on offer ?
I suppose I was a part of the Seven koykaeng...The happy part...

I found (or she found me) a cute little femboy type in the bar earlier in the day named Ice...and spent that day and eve and the next day a eve with her...

Based on my experience with the one girl, I'll be back...

I heard about Ozzie's incident from my girl who got the phone call from the second girl Ozzie was going to barfine immediately after it happened...But I missed all the drama first-hand...

The other girls in the bar were all good looking babes...definitely worth a look see...

      Cheers,

(Socrates999 @ Jun. 18 2007,06:47) When a low class Issan cunt thinks she's risen to a position where she can physically threaten a white man
having enjoyed socrates' company in the past, finding him to be both witty and urbane, and agreeing *almost* entirely with the "magnificent seven" viewpoint with regard to this unpleasant affair, i find myself nonetheless distressed by this sliver of colonialism in his statement. i say "colonialism" because i can not imagine socrates to be racist, but, still and all -- am i the only one in the slightest thrown by this comment?

what matters it whether the cunt was from issan or manhattan? or the bloke was white, black or purple?

am i reading too much into this? was it merely a bit of pique with unintended ramifications? or perhaps i have been blind to a prevailing attitude harbored by much of the board?

i don't mean to raise a stink, really, but i find this particular attitude distressing and am left wondering where my "mates" stand on this issue...

perhaps i should do a poll.

I'm with you on that Thaibound, the comment was for sure not necessary to get the point across.

It is racist but I assumed it was a slip of the fingers.

Thanks for the gentle question(ing) TB. My comments were directed at one person, not a race or group. And she could/may be from Central BKK for all I know or care. Definitely no racism in my comments. I'm wondering if it was the word "Isaan" or the word "risen" that felt bad?

If anything, there is perhaps a touch of classism in my comment. However, that classism isn't mine- it's hers. Classist behavior is alive and ingrained in the Thais. This is not our (white guys) rules-it's part of their system. In general, we are:

            older whiter richer

These are 3 things that Thais are taught to have elevated respect for. Now, I don't actually desire or expect any of those to be honored when it comes to farangs, except for perhaps the older bit. I find the way Thais grovel to richer, whiter Thais to be disgusting. Regarding the elder thing, I believe most countries honor a tradition of respect for the elders (do old Eskimos really get put on an ice floe and pushed out to sea??). As I said, I'm more than OK with those things being ignored.

However, another area of traditional Thai respect has to do with the head. I certainly remember days when LBs/GGs would actually ask permission or give an "excuse me" in Thai before touching a farangs head. To walk over a Thai's head with your bare feet is highly insulting. To me, the increasing tendency of Thai LB/GG to mess with your head is part of the overall decline in respect.

So, when some bitch with a chip on her shoulder not only ignores those items, but also dares to raise her hand OVER SOMEONE'S HEAD in a threatening gesture, it's not just a threat-it's a subtle Thai way of saying "Fuck you farang, I have zero respect for you".

I am merely returning that respect to one particular person.

Yes, the afternoon incident is rather disturbing. Nothing was mentioned later in the evening although there was an air of weariness about. Karl should certainly have booted her out then and there. Opening day/night needs to show the place, management and staff in absolutely the best light.

I had to leave at around 11.30 but enjoyed meeting up with the enigmatic and drole Kahuna again. I think some of the posters above were amongst a crowd of four or five who arrived as I departed. Sorry not meet you all.

It would be good if Karl posts a response.

I hope that was only a small glitch on what promises to be another good addition to the LB scene in Pattaya. BTW, which particular nonce did the threatening ??

For Kahuna : I think I will get back to Bkk at the end of this month. Guess has the Independance party on the 4th.

Yep - being a white man sure is a burden these days. Always have your apology ready because every one else will be expecting one from you for something or other that we have or had no control over!

(ozzie @ Jun. 18 2007,21:04) Finally I get her to co-oprate by having a shower and getting her gear off and after 20 minutes of trying to fuck her I give up as she is just not letting me in so to speak.
This happened to me one or two time to me in my newbee days..So now most off the times I tell girls before I BF them..I hold there wrists tell them it's same same... NO FUCK NO MONEY ..So they can not argue...
Good point Billy. I had a girl from Stringfellow's, Christy, try to pull this on me. She comes over to my room over 2 hours late and when she arrives she promptly plops her ass on my bed and starts saying how tired she is. Then she says tomorrow we're going to Sizzler to eat, like we're going to have some date. I basically have to tie her down to strip her naked and then she doesn't let me in either, pulling some BS moves so that I can't quite in a comfortable spot to proceed with the ass-pounding. Needless to say, that taught me a valuable lesson that night. I threw her out without giving her a satang since she didn't deserve anything. Snick and Socrates later advised me, and rightly so, to "not piss where i drink".
I'm a rough-ridin', hootin' and hollerin', ladyboy lovin' cowboy! Bang bang yer dead!!!

Totally agree with your assessment Socrates. While my personal experiences have been fine, I have felt more than a few times that the bargirls do carry a big chip on their shoulder. While on one hand they are groveling for our money, they are at the very same time spitting on us and throwing dirt on our faces in a figurative way. I've seen the way some bar girls treat customers. What may be perceived, on our end, as playful banter and plain fun seems to mask the one way that some bargirls can in a way "get back at us". I really do feel that there is many times a general feeling of disrespect, envy, and disdain. Yeah, I don't pay a ladyboy to respect me...but I don't think I'll want to do business with one that carries a chip on her shoulder that's bigger than her cock!

                          Hi ALL at ATS ,

First may i thank mbkljb for all his effort by posting "Bearly Legal" in sleazy soi 6 on your website and bringing it to your attention (1st class website may i add). Secondly i'd like to thank everyone who managed to attend the opening on the 15th June '07 and hope to see you all again once i return from the U.K 13th July '07 New visa required along with some new ideas for all you LB lovers worldwide to make your stay more memorable.

Regards the so called "first strike" made by member Socrates999 against a LB member of staff. He was quite right to bring it to my attention as she was new staff and her behavior was totally unexceptable in any situation and she has since been dismissed for her conduct. Myself equipt with basic Thai language and without the presence of my partner on this occasion to explain behavior like this will not be tolerated by any member of staff at anytime ....... I'm sure everyone is in agreement with this decision. As customer satisfaction is always a main concern.

I was pleased to see you revisited the bar and received no further problem ..... Thankyou.

I will try my best to update members with photos of new and existing staff upon my return .... time permitting.

Once again i'd like to thankyou all for your custom & support in the bar and in these forums. I look forward to meeting more members and the posse who attended the opening.

Best wishes from "Barely Legal" & Karl.

Bravo, Karl. I'll now definitely be making a return visit when I'm down in Pattaya this weekend.

It was actually another board member with whom you spoke, but I was there both times, as well as on 2 other occasions.

Top dollar, Karl. Many thanks for the kind words

It seems like you have a good handle on the situation and i am delighted to see really positive steps. Its so easy to just walk away and think there are a new batch of punters around the corner.

I'm really a newbie with the ATS members, but I try to be regular. One thing about them is that they are loyal, speak their mind, and in the main are extremely helpful in assisting new ventures.

Delighted you have taken steps and I certainly wish you all the best in your exciting project.

                                Cheers
