  • The Bigger Bash

Following on from the Big Bash in May the next competition is planned.

6 Teams, representing LB Bars in Pattaya, will play Volley Ball on Saturday 10th October 2009 at Dongtan Beach in Jomtien. Start time is 3.00pm

This will be followed by a party at the Pattaya Bay Resort ,the same evening, at 8.00pm with prize giving at 9.00pm.

The reason for the event happening in October is that neither the bars, nor the hotel, want an event later in the year. September is rainy season.

The bars will each enter a team of 6 LBs
The bars will pay an entry fee of 3000 Baht
Each bar requires a sponsor - one of you guys - fee 3000 baht
    (3 bars are already sponsored)
Each team must wear a Tshirt of their Bar or their Sponsor

    Bars confirmed are:

    Sally's of Jomtien
    La Bamba
    Stringfellows
    So What Bar Soi 6

+ 2 more - I will only publish when confirmed, but discussions with Family Group, Pook Bars, Kitten Club, Blue Room all need to be concluded

This provides a total fund of 36,000 baht, from 6 bars, to finance the event.

    Prize money is:
    1st 1500 Baht each = 9000 Baht
    2nd 1000 Baht each = 6000 Baht
    3rd/4th/5th/6th all get 500 Baht each = 12000 Baht

Total prize money is 27,000 Baht

The remaining 9000 Baht goes towards the party.
The party will be a subsidized bar (profits going to the charity)
    Free Buffet and Music
There will be an Auction of various items
    Contributions of items are welcome

Entry fee will be 500 baht per person - Only Volley Ball contestants do not pay

All the proceeds, from the event, will be given to a group called Jesters.

They do an enormous amount of charity work, for children, in Thailand's Eastern Seaboard - a very worthy cause.

I hope many of you will sponsor and attend this event. Posters will be placed in the participating bars.
    Thanks

Nice one Rossco - which team needs sponsorship? I am particular about my corporate responsibilities....

For those BMs attending this event I have had another crazy idea.
There is a fairly new Go Kart track near Bali Pier in Pattaya. The Karts are reasonably quick and the circuit is a decent size - the whole place is well set up with electronic timing etc.

I attended a race day there with neighbors and we had a great time - it did become a little competitive!

Maybe some BMs would like a Kart race event during their stay. Maybe National Teams?

                        Who?

Got to admit, I did smile at the Times headline following the announcement of Schumacher's return to F1 and the thoughts of Hamilton on the report.
