Thailand is closing th popular tourist destination of Koh TaChai before tourists completely destroy the island.
Over selling of tourism here has led to thousands of people on tiny beaches totally overrunning the environment here.
Permanent damage is predicted unless they take this action to close it to tourism.
Thailand just keeps growing it's tourism industry with little care about infrastructure and planning.
Just recently they have started cracking down on the beach madness in many places.
However the tourist money always wins over sanity in Thailand.
They predict the tourism business will continue to grow and grow but this means there will be no more quiet idyllic beaches.
Every where will just be mayhem and crowded. In the end this could be bad for Thailand and tourism.
Their reputation could change from paradise to a dirty tourist trap because they have pride in their country less and less.
Long term they need to get a better handle on the tourist populations and their actual destinations before many places are destroyed.
