On Monday 2nd of April I am moving to BKK for an extended visit of about 12-18 months. I will be basing myself in Bangkok but sure I will move about from time to time.
First few weeks will be looking for an apartment but with Songkran in the way I am sure I might just spend way too much time drinking and shagging.
Anyone who wants to meet up for a beer or some hunting let me know.

The reason nobody knows for sure is that its at the behest of the police boss for Bangkok and he tends not to say one way or another until a few days beforehand. Having said that, in previous years, bars have tended to be open on this holiday (ie the police do not issue an instruction to close) however this is the first time this specific holiday has come up under the new government, hence most people are hedging. I'd say you have a 95% chance the bars will be open as normal on this holiday.
