I am not really a beer drinker but I love draft. That was the great thing about Cambo - one could get almost anywhere good draft beer. On my last stop in Siam Reap, I was always looking forward to my humble dinner place where I had a draft or 2 for 50 cents each.
Guinness only for me at home in and Chang or San Miguel Lite ( no lime) in
Singha sends me bloody "mental" and Heineken just makes me piss
I tried a few Tiger Beers which were nice and I drink them over here on the odd occasion Im out for a "Ruby"
Me and my Scouse mate (who lives in BKK) did hit the Guinness one afternoon during the Curfew's in a Pub that name escapes me , its between the Golden Bar and Guess Bar on Soi4
A most enjoyable afternoon drinking session it was too
Your got yer Mother in a whirl
Shes not sure if your a Boy or a Girl
(Road Runner @ Jul. 17 2010,23:50) In LOS I usually stick to the Beer Singh as for some reason it doesn't give me a hangover.
RR.
Curious. It's been a long time since I ordered a Singha. I still have memories of the time it was basically a hand made brew & occasionally a batch would have a much higher alcohol level.
Occasionally? Shit, quite often by my memory. I have seen guys go down screaming after half a dozen (give or take). That was a long time ago though.
But if you say it is Ok then it's time I tried one again. That's what I love about LOS, always something to do...
Despite the high cost of living, it continues to be popular.

Speak for yourself, mister!
As I've said before (in maybe my very fourth pointless post in Pointlessland), I love beer! And as it's turned to summer, my other alternatives that got me through the winter just don't seem appealing, and all I wanna do is reach for a cold one (which is what I'll be doing all afternoon this fine first Sunday of the Japanese beach season, while watching all the young bikini-clad J-girls prancing by in their high heels and over-sized hats... ).
Surprisingly, you can get top shelf liquor really cheap in Japan. Wine too. But even finding an imported beer is rare, let alone anything beyond the usual international dominators. You walk into a liquor shop (off license) and it's a vast wall of cans (it's all cans here), but it's all domestic.
And they don't make it cheap, neither (the cheaper priced stuff is mixed with a local liquor). So I pay through the nose for the good stuff -- about 18USD for a sixer of tallboys: Kirin's "Ichiban Shibori". Oishi!
Oh yeah, LOS -- last year my mates converted me to San Mig when incountry. Originally Chang, then got sick of the aftertaste, then Heineken, but it's never cold enough, so to a tropics beer that doesn't need to be too cold, ol' Saint Michael...

What PD really means young sparrow is that us Old Yanks grew up on shit Yank beer like Oly and Coors and Hamms and Regal Select and Bud and the Yank shit beer list goes on and on so when we drink Archa it reminds us of those shit Yank beers that we all grew to hate and we know this for a fact because the only BMs we know who actually like Archa are old Yanks like ourselves...Is that a run-on sentence or what?
I personally like Sam Mig Lite but truth is any beer that requires a slice of lime is also shit...
