    Dunno mate

But you would be the sort of person who would piss me off if you started getting off the plane as your actions might upset even more nervous passengers. Not a flame just an observation.

Apparently, some bloke came up with the best place to sit on a plane "in the rare event of an accident". Aisle seats were prefered over windows and a row or two back (no more) from the emergency exits were recommended.

Also no high heels and try and wear a hooded top as you can always cover your head in case of flames (WTF?). Well, that was Richard Reed's excuse.

Let's be honest though, it doesn't really matter where you sit - you go down, you're toast.

However, I do understand what you are saying Naang... although I would take the aisle, there is NO WAY i am sitting in the middle seat. That's just torture!

Business Class is always my prefered option but unlike El_Hefe I don't really care where I sit as there is plenty of room to get by the pax next to you should you need to go for a pee, dump, unsuccessfully chat up trolley dolly...

Oh and back in May DXB-BKK on EK was 18,000 baht return economy and 50,000 baht business. Today it is 36,000 economy and... 96,000 Biz!

Now if you KNOW you dont hvae the seat of your choice, get on the plane, cannot have it moved to your satisfaction do you have the "right" to get off?? I guess so but what if, as a result, you delay the flight coz you have to have your bag form the pit?? So 1 person can inconvenience 300??

It gets right up my nose when people come on and they are stuck in middle seats and get pissy when they cannot sit together and get an aisle and CUST SERVICE TELLS them, "Oh the flight crew will sort it out for you.". BULLSHIT!! On a long flight especially nobody wants to sit in the middle and with good reason. Especially if they actually got to check in at an appropriate time!! With my 20 + years of experience in the industry people get stuck in the middle because they check in LATE.

Now dont get me started on carry on bags-fucking hell!!!! And connections!!!!!! Done get me double started. About 95% of the flying public doesnt have a fucking clue. hese people buy these cheap o fare that has 3 connections and they are shcked when they miss one. I see this ALL THE TIME people go from New York to LA or San Fran. We fly non stop from JFK but they go via Chicago and book at 45 minute connection on a Friday, departure from LGA at 400 pm!!! Yeah right most of the time that aint happening-especially if there are more than 2 cloud in the sky between NY and Chitown!!!
          Be careful out there!

AU student traveling in Thailand; unaware he was missing

            Published: July 31, 2009

Auburn University student Michael Harrie€™s two-week odyssey began with an undelivered message.

Harrie, reported missing July 16, spent the last few weeks traveling in Thailand and briefly in Malaysia, Paul Harrie, his father, said Friday.

Michael Harrie was supposed to meet his parents in Tokyo, but decided to take the side trip to Thailand. Paul Harrie said his son€™s e-mail about the change of plans never arrived.

€œThat€™s the reason I think he may have been a little surprised that this happened,€ Harrie said. €œHe was under the assumption he had contacted us and we knew.€

Paul Harrie said weeks without word was worrisome because it was uncharacteristic.

€œHe€™s just not like that,€ he said. €œHe is a very responsible kid.€

Michael is in Japan now, but plans to fly to Los Angeles soon, his father said. A date for the flight hasn€™t been set.

Mike Clardy, director of communications at AU, was unsure when Michael Harrie would return to Auburn, adding he had not contacted the university yet.

The 29-year-old learned he was missing from Thai hotel staff, who recognized him when he tried to check in, Paul Harrie said. Soon after, Michael Harrie contacted Thai officials in Bangkok and subsequently his parents, ending weeks of anxiety.

€œIt was tremendous elation,€ Paul Harrie said. €œIt was the best feeling.€

Something about this story still smells like bullshit.

Why didn't he return to Japan when he was scheduled to?
And why did he walk into the airport and then back out?
