  • Reliable storage facilities in Pattaya?

Perhaps any of the Old Pattaya Hands know whether there are any reliable and trustworthy storage facilities in Pattaya where one could leave some things between trips. If so, would you know of the respective websites, should such exist and/or rates, experiences (also from hearsay), etc.

    Thanks
    CM

Chinaman, how long are you thinking about storing your items? Some hotels do have storage facilities for guests who go on trips while in LOS. I've left my luggage at my favorite hotel for a week or two at a time. IF you are thinking about a longer period, try contacting your favorite hotel and they may know of another alternative if you don't get some suggestions here.

Me and TTChang have left stuff at the PBR for weeks at a time with no worries. An absolute boon in the past for me when I was doing shoots because I didn't have to drag lighting equipment and wardrobes, etc, back and forth to Bangkok...

Thanks rxpharm. I thought of that but I'd prefer a clean solution meaning that I'd use a proper storage company if such exists which I think should given the type of city Pattaya is.

With a hotel there is always a bit of favor involved or at least it means coming back to the same venue.

I'd like to remain flexible. I also might need more time in between stays in case I go home and do not really know exactly when I will get back.

But I certainly appreciate your input. Hope to meet up with you next time for a chat. Thanks.

Thanks Stogie. I thought of the PBR but the same reasons I expanded on before apply. Also during high-season and for LT the PBR is a bit on the high side.

Well, I'm sure sth will work out ... ;-)

            A couple ideas:

Room rents for Thais can be as low as 1000 baht/month.  You could rent one of those rooms but would need a Thai to help u find it.  Or farang style apartments start at around 4K a month.

Or find some long term expat who's been here for years in a cheap charlie apartment and throw him a little money for storage.

Or if you have a favorite ladyboy pay her rent and have her store your stuff.

These scenarios work best if you're storing things that have little value to theifs such as clothes.  One might not want to risk golf clubs.

But if a old farang guy scraping by in a 4K apartment had 4 guys leaving a few suitcases each for 1000/mo he could live rent free.

I would think there's lots of guys that would pay 12K a year to store stuff.

And I would think that some guys wouldn't mind making 12K a year as long as they had space.

YOU? ;-) But then yr rent is more than 4K, so it must be someone else ...

But you just made me think of such an idea - rent a house and convert part of it into a storage biz ...

Well, we'll talk when I'm there. Are you back by now?
              Thanks!

I was thinking of guys who live at places like the Nirun Condo.

There's a chance that I can back at the end of July. Have to sort out from stuff in the States first.

Found that one too and it looks like a good option. Only problem is that it is in Jomtian as I was hoping that something closer to the center existed.

Has anyone tried the guesthouses - not for storage though of course ;-)
